North Meets South Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Village of Baldwin

HUGE SHOUT OUT to the staff at NORTH MEETS SOUTH — owners Todd and Dawn, and ESPECIALLY Joylynn, server and bartender extraordinaire!! WOWZA!! 👏👏👏

Truth is, since moving here a few months ago and hearing many (many!) great things about their phenomenal fare, we’ve stopped in several times but opted to leave because of long waits (…understandably, never a bad sign.. and now we know WHY!) But this past Thursday, we decided to stick it out… and MAMA, after just the outstanding ”Virgin Mary” alone — garnished with candied BACON Todd makes himself! — we knew we’d made the right choice.

And THEN for the REAL treats: A steak sandwich for me — tender strips of melt-in-your-mouth strips of juicy, juicy steak, piled high with mushrooms and onions — and a patty melt for my bride (BOTH of these, FLAVOR EXPLOSIONS in our mouths!!). The quality of beef: Out of this world!

But maybe the best part: Joy AND Todd were BOTH so inviting, welcoming and proud of their offerings — and rightly so! — it only added to the whole experience.

Can not WAIT to get back!

UPDATE: My bride and I went back with our daughter, had their Sicilian Dago and Chicken Strips ... PHENOMENAL! And Todd, just as gracious of a host as ever. OH, and same with Hope, our new server. Great service (and servers!) reflect...

I have been here three times so far, each experience a little different. Day one: Burger, spicy bacon, with pepper jack cheese. Great burger.. Priced right. Served at the perfect temp. Day two steak sandwich. Haven't seen this kind of sandwich within 15 miles of Baldwin. Very good. Lots of flavor, preferred over burger. 4.2 Finally a Cajun Chicken Sandwich. I figured for $8 I'd give it a go. Hands down, worth it. I did expect it to have a little heat to it, which was the only thing it lacked. It was a surprising first bite. Just an all around great sandwich. Lots of flavor, perfect go to sandwich for anyone. 4.5. This was the only order I took to go, noticed the carry out container is plant based and breaks down over ninety days. Another +1 for NMS. Really...

This is by far my favorite place to come. Todd & Dawn are exceptional and work tirelessly to provide a lovely experience. This bar is very homey, and provides very personal care even in its busiest hours. They are efficient, consistent, and they craft the most delicious Cuban sandwich you’ve ever had. Seriously. I crave it every single day. They are a lovely business to work for as well, as they’ve provided me many of my best dinners. They will always have my support for how much they support me & my family. I can’t wait...
