Cheap Andy's Saloon — Restaurant in Village of Hammond

Service was very good, food was disappointing. I “built” my own “roundup” choosing sausage, ham, mush, onion and Pico De Gallo and smothered in sausage gravy. Eggs were ordered over easy, they were at least over medium Sausage is pre made pizza sausage crumbles from Sysco or similar food purveyor House potatoes were also pre-made like the sausage, had its own breading and definitely not fresh Mushrooms were the dried type and ok not tasty or fresh Sausage gravy was tasty and plentiful Onions were from a package and rehydrated strings of onions. Powerful in taste but not tasty nor fresh Pico De Gallo came in a side dish and thus I had to dump it on my “roundup” the pico was fresh even tho I was surprised it wasn’t underneath like everything else in this “roundup” Toast was marble rye because they didn’t have wheat available and it was so hard and crunchy it crumbled when I tried folding it around some breakfast food for a mini breakfast sandwich it also hurt my mouth because of all the hardness and jaggedness the toast Only came with strawberry jam, no choice of jam given. The rail vodka bloody with a domestic chaser is somehow a 12oz bloody thats $6O Overall it was quite expensive and disappointing food. And the drink prices are more like Hudson $$$$ than Mid County country $$ Like I said tho the customer...

The people that visit this establishment are nice the workers are polite also, problem is employees have a cigarette in the mouth when they are working in the smoke-room and feeling your cups!! Also there's two doors that open up into the dining room, so the no-smoking dining room has people walking in from the smoking room to use the bathroom all the time bringing in the smell of smoke so technically to call this place a smoke free bar would be a lie because they are not two separate buildings!! Plus I don't see the employees constantly washing their hands or using disinfectant sanitizer on their hands after handling ashtrays and other things such as dirty dishes, garbage, empty bottles!! We have been coming for years until recently the service and food has been great. The last few times we go home smelling like we've smoked a pack of cigarettes. Tonight we showed up. Ordered the special, pulled pork sandwich, cheeseburger corn beef special, 2 cups of soup. Took 10 minutes for soup, which cups were barely full for $4. Had a bloody. Waited 40 minutes so no food. Asked for the check if the kitchen hadn't started our food. Received the check with 2 bloodys on there Had to go back and get correct bill. No apology.
