We stopped for a Friday fish fry about 8 PM. The place was very busy, but not unexpected for a fish fry. Once inside, we learned it was a 40 minute wait for a table for 2. We were lucky to find 2 spots at the bar to wait. Had there been no room at the bar, we would have had to stand either in the bar or outside for our 40 minute wait. The old-fashions we ordered were good, but not the best we've ever had. Our wait was 40 minutes on the dot. We received a text via cell phone that our table was ready and we had 3 minutes to check in. If you go there, be sure to have your cell phone handy to get that message. It was so loud in the bar that I didn't hear the text notification come in, I just happened to see the notification before my cell phone went black again. Once we were seated it was a short wait for the waitress to come to our table. I think maybe she could read lips or had super-human hearing to know what we were ordering. We ordered the onion haystack for an appetizer and it came very quickly. However, I'm thinking that due to the quality of the haystack, that's why it came so quickly. It wasn't a huge amount of onions and most were pieces that were really crunchy with not a lot of flavor. It seemed as if the onions were some of the last ones floating in the deep fryer for a while and were scooped out for our order. They weren't too greasy though but weren't very hot either. We ate them anyway because we were so hungry. It wasn't long before a young man brought our deep fried cod fish fry dinners to us. Ample portions of fish; 3 pieces and a small amount of french fries (they had run out of potato pancakes earlier - which was really disappointing because we were looking forward to eating them), rye bread that didn't seem quite right - maybe the bread bag had been open too long or perhaps the butter was a bit off. Not sure. The french fries were good, crispy and I think they had some seasoning on them. The fish was disappointing; dry, flavorless. and really crunchy like it was in the fryer a bit too long. Cole slaw, a lemon slice and tartar sauce were also included. Did I mention the place was loud? The bar and seating area are in one large room. It was extremely difficult to hold a conversation while eating. In fact, it was impossible. The dining area noise was louder than in the bar. The talking of the patrons in the dining area was just really loud. I stopped talking to my husband after a short while because I grew weary of having to repeat everything I said while he leaned over to hear what I saying even though I was talking very loud. Instead, we both watched one of the many TVs on the walls while we ate. Having said all that, my husband said he thought the food was good. I guess I'm a bit more finicky with my food. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The prices were moderate.

This place is awesome!! The food is spectacular and the servings are plentiful here. I came with my family, a total of 5 adults, and we were seated within 20 minutes on a very busy Sunday afternoon. I see why this place is so crowded. The Mac & cheese variations here are beyond delicious. The salads are huge and crunchy fresh..omg. My California club fried chicken breast sandwich was outrageously good and the meat was so thick & juicy. The tater tots are to die for and there's an extra charge to upgrade to them, but well worth the added cost so don't miss out on them. The chicken wings are large and the variety of sauce flavors & dry rubs to choose from will please any taste preference. Order some, you won't regret it. Most of all, the prices here are fabulous for what you receive in food quantity, food quality, and the great service they provide. The bottled beer was served ice cold, like it should be. Many places have problems & serve warm bottled beer, but not here. They know how do it right! The only thing I wasn't too pleased with was the high noise level, but with so many people crowded inside, I'm not sure it could be helped lol. I'll take the increased noise to eat this wonderful food again, no problem. Muah! I can't wait to go back to try more dishes here. Keep up the great work, Joe Mama's. Your food and your staff are wonderful.

Absolutely heavenly. Overall amazing experience. Drove almost 2 hours to this diamond in the rough. Was not the least bit disappointed, it was everything I hoped for and more. Right when you get to their spacious parking lot you can smell how great the food is. It's a nice building for being practically the middle of nowhere. The service and atmosphere are absolutely amazing. Every person I interacted with was extremely friendly. Cannot say enough about the food. The shrooms are a great appetizer and I highly recommend. It's served with homemade ranch. The Mac n Cheese there is amazing in every way. The Joe Mama burger has deep fried Mac n Cheese as a bun. You can barely keep hold of it as it's exploding with the flavor and the mac. The only burger I've ever had to eat with a fork. If someone shot me in the head while I was consuming my meal, my only regret was that I couldn't have finished my meal at Joe Mama's. With that being said, you WILL have leftovers. Every person I saw walking out had a box in hand. If you are traveling, bring a cooler, you will want to save it. I wish someone told me that. 10/10, has to be my new favorite restaurant. Thank you Joe Mama.

Food was decent but I have to say the curly haired, brunette, middle aged hostess that works there is one of the rudest people I have ever met in my life. Before my friends and I had even received our bill she was trying to rush us out of the door as the restaurant had become busy. My friends and I had ordered one final drink and were planning to leave regardless once that drink was finished. Within a span of about 15 minutes she had come up to us altogether three times in an attempt to rush us out or have us move to the bar. We would have gladly moved to the bar but since there was A. No room at the bar and B.We had one drink left and were planning to leave after we were finished anyway, we could not. What makes things worse is when she would come up to us she would make a comment about us leaving and then would rush off before we could even say anything. By the third time she approached us I asked her to allow me to finish my drink comfortably and then we would head out and this woman has the audacity to say "well you need to have compassion and empathy for other people" and then walks off immediately before even allowing me to respond. After this last time she had approached us I had enough and I asked to speak to a manager. I have to say the manager who was named Annette was very kind and apologized for her behavior and told us she would tell her to stop approaching us. She also gave us some free drink tickets for the inconvenience. The hostess did stop approaching us after the manager spoke to us but she continued to stare at us uncomfortably and then when the table next to us had left she very loudly said "thanks for giving up the table and being considerate people" very passive aggressively. At this point we had finished and decided to head out and as we walked out she gave us a big fake smile and loudly said "have a nice day". Very obviously being insincere about it. All in all it was not a good experience and I get that places get busy and you want to seat people but guests should be allowed to finish their meals in peace without...

Update 11/2/2023 I can no longer recommend Joe Mama's. Prices have gone up, which is expected, but portion sizes and quality have massively dropped. We used to always have to take food home, now we practically leave hungry. We were there again today and the wrap my wife got was half the size it once was, The chicken was extremely dry and lettuce wasn't very fresh. I could barely find the chicken in my cowboy bbq sandwich and what was there was dry and rubbery, and the ham was cold. My kids each had a burger and even those weren't as flavorful as they used to be. In total 3 sandwhiches, 1 wrap and 3 beverages was $80 before tip! $100 with tip!

Sorry, I used to love this place, but unfortunately, they have priced themselves out of my business because the quality and portion sizes have suffered.

One other thing to note is that we weren't even eating for 15 minutes, and the waitress was asking if we wanted to go boxes. I understand it was a busy night, and people were waiting for tables, but at least let us eat half of our food before you start bugging us about togo boxes. Original comment 3 years ago. My wife and I went there for the first time on Tuesday. The food is great, but a little overpriced for being bar food. The waitress was only on her 2nd day. She was very pleasant and attentive. However, my wife's chicken wrap came with hot sauce on it when she had asked for ranch. She just ate it because it was lunchtime and we had already waited a while for our food.

There were also some small charges, like a mixed sauce charge on our bill (nobody ordered a mixed sauce), but it wasn't worth the hassle.

Overall, we...
