J&M Bar & Grill, the kind of place where Wisconsin charm meets Friday night fish fry perfection. First things first: the fish fry? Just like a blast from the past. This isn't pre-breaded frozen crap from food service companies. You can see the fillets are hand breaded and fried to order. I could see into the kitchen and the cook was doing a killer job. She had full control of the situation even though, at one point, I counted 12 orders waiting to be cooked. Even with it being that busy, you didn't wait long for food.
The servers? Absolute rockstars. They were friendly, hustling like they were trying to outrun last call, and somehow managed to keep the energy up with a smile—even when the place was packed like a Packer game tailgate. But the real show? The guy I think is the owner/manager. There he was, posted up at the end of the bar, drink in hand, supervising like a seasoned pro. Every few minutes, he'd call out, "Hustle up, don’t be so lazy!" while putting his feet up and settling in for another sip. Hey, every great team needs a good cheerleader, right? Fortunately, every single server just gave the shit right back to him!
J&M is cute, cozy, and delightfully rustic, with that true Wisconsin bar vibe we all know and love. It’s a little slice of fried heaven with a side of friendly chaos, and I can’t wait...
Read moreWe heard great things about Tina's fish fry and checked it out! This review is for the fish fry which i believe is only on Fridays. It is AWESOME! One of the best fish frys in the area! Love the stuffed shrimp that was perfectly cooked. In fact, I'd go back just for the stuffed shrimp! The service was super friendly and efficient! It is a small place so go early or making a reservation if you have a party of more than 4. Hubby ordered the perch dinner. It is a big portion of perch that he said was a tad over cooked with waffle fries. I had a baked potato. It also came with home made cole slaw and fresh slice of marble rye. Prices are affordable. Our total bill with two sodas was $28. Very tasty plus great friendly service, what more can you ask for! Do yourself a favor and check out Tina's Somers Inn you will be so happy you found...
Read moreI ran to Tina's for a quick bite while at UW Parkside for volleyball. It is a bar and they have a few tables to sit at as well. There are burgers and other hot sandwiches as well as appetizers and pizza on the menu. I had the white cheddar and red pepper cheese curds as an app. They were very good with just the right amount of red pepper taste. For lunch, I had the grilled ham and cheese and my wife had a cheeseburger. They were both delicious. Hand made and cooked behind the bar area. The ham was out of this world good. The service was very friendly and spot on with the food recommendations. It looks like they have a larger dining area behind the bar for...
