Taste of Italy, Main Road, Vineland has lost a customer. Eric and I both had a rough day. I don't have a lot of money, but I thought we both deserved a treat. So I looked up their Facebook page (which includes photos of their menu with prices). Their daily specials were updated until Wednesday. Not having much cash, I ordered what I could afford, carefully calculating the prices listed and tax and tip for the delivery guy. Our order arrived 40 minutes later with a different price than what I'd figured. That difference was $12. Now $12 might not be lot of money to most folks, but to me it's a lot. The delivery guy called the restaurant and eventually put me on the phone with the girl on the other end. She translated for the owner who I could hear talking in the background. Apparently those prices are old prices, there would be no compromise...even though the false advertising was their problem. Honestly, if they had met me half way, I would have paid $6 if they ate $6. Instead, they stood firm and I sent the food back. I won't be ordering from them again. I didn't post their menu, they did. I later looked up their info on other sites and found the same menu with the same pricing. After posting on Facebook of my dissatisfaction, several other folks messaged me that they had had the same problem there, as well as over-charging, and different prices on the same order. Their food is pretty good for a small local business, but it's a shame they don't seem to know anything about advertising or customer service. P.S. The delivery guy was very nice, and I actually gave him a small tip just for coming out and for attempting to mediate. I hope they don't subject him to less polite...
Read moreOrdered from Grubhub, and while I know any unsatisfactory food is financially Grubhubs responsibility, Grubhub does NOT make or prepare the food. I called the store to report the uncooked pepper bites, receiving cocktail sauce instead of marinara, and the Stromboli being half the size of what we received two weeks before. Instead of getting an apology from the owners son,I instead was told that it was Grubhubs fault. All they do is deliver the food. I know that Grubhub is who I need to see for a refund, but some customer service would have been appreciated considering it was Taste of Italy who messed up the order. An apology, a recognition, anything! Instead the kid stuck to his guns and said to contact Grubhub. NEVER going here again! Maybe if the owner was still running the place, but not putting the safety of my family in the hands of his very rude son who won't even acknowledge that he or his cook could have made a mistake. I realized at the last moment that the bacon was RAW. My 7 year old almost ate this! ...
Read moreListen, this place has amazing pizza - when they don’t overcook it! Since they don’t replace the delivered pizza (even when you specifically ask that they DO NOT send a well done pizza) unless you eat none of the pizza - be warned! Their 10% of your next order is a sad excuse for ’making it right’! I asked for a manager yesterday and did not speak to one… They refused to make it right. I don’t know about you, but when you have hungry kids, there are going to be a couple of slices missing while you get your life together….
I say all this to say, it’s not the cheapest pizza, so whatever you do - go pick it up!!!
At least that way, you can refuse any cardboard (I wish took a picture) they try to pass off as pizza! I’ve experienced this 2 out of 4 times - so I’m done with their surprise delivery & lack of customer appreciation. Somehow, I still can imagine picking up a slice or a pie- but never ever again - a delivery.
Side note: the delivery guy is amazing and deserves...
