I went on a Monday afternoon around 2 pm. One of their daily specials was a rib meal for 10.95. I thought this was a good deal so I ordered it. As I looked over the menu, that was the normal every day price so not really a daily specials though still a good price. The meal came with a good amount of ribs, choice of potatoes, boiled carrots, and soup or salad. I chose the mashed potatoes with gravy and salad. As you can see, the salad was decent sized though a bit lacking in veggies. The croutons were very good. To me, the carrots were inedible due to being so badly overcooked. Even with salt and pepper, it did not help. The mashed potatoes were very mashed. The potatoes and gravy were good. The ribs were very over cooked though they had a good bbq sauce on them. The meal was supposed to come with a roll but I did not get one. It was also to include a dessert which I did not get either and even more so they offered to sell me dessert. Overall, the food was decent, but nothing to write home about. It was a bit not cool that they offered to sell me dessert when my deal was supposed to have one included. I know this from the menu as well as the guy directly behind me ordered the same thing and got dessert. To me, the place had a feel of a place for retired people to eat as everything was kinda bland and overcooked to make everything more easily digestible. The waitress was nice and the service was decent overall. This is not a bad place for a quick bite.

I will give them a 5/5 (even though they forgot my dessert, which was supposed to be included with my meal). The staff were all working really hard and were very busy but you did not have to wait long. Food selection was excellent with tons of specials. We were happy with what we had for the portion size and price (although I didn't love the seasoning sauce on the vegetable stir fry and the veg were a bit over-done). Hot turkey sandwich was huge and wonderful (so says my dining companion) The place was busy, and everyone was enjoying their meals. So thank you!

The level of cleanliness at Vinton Family Restaurant was not the best, floors were dirty. The bathroom was extremely outdated; While the toilet and sink were clean the walls, floor, counter and room divider we're rusty, crusty and musty. I ordered the Plain Bacon Cheeseburger with Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup. It was good. The prices were affordable, and you definitely get what you pay for. Overall, while my time was enjoyable I probably wouldn't highly recommend it to anyone and I probably won't be going back myself.

Upon walking in I saw the fluorescent lighting and the weird carpet and thought "What on earth did I just walk in to?" I sat down and the waitress brought our drinks and menus. I started looking at the menu and I was amazed at the low prices! I got an omelette with hash browns and oatmeal. The waitress patiently answered my questions about calories and if I could have egg beaters instead of eggs and she said "Of course!" And was so nice about. We had a wonderful conversation about my pets and how I had never been to Vinton before. When the food came out I was astonished! The portions were HUGE! I ended up taking half my meal home (which wasn't an issue for me). I would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. It's not every day you go to a restaurant and get big portions for low prices....

Stopped in for early dinner before my nieces track meet. There were 2 in my party, only ones in building beside the staff. Lady sitting at the counter with her back to us on the phone. We made noise several times to get her attention to no avail, even when she hung up the phone, was then more interested in Steve wilcose on TV. Several other customers were treated the same after we were seated. Food was way less than stellar, wasn't even mediocre. Philly cheese steak had little flavor. Hot beef was covered with chicken gravy and super salty. Hostess was on the phone again while we were there saw it was video chat, volume way up so from where we were we could hear a child plainly crying.

Not a...
