My husband and I made a reservation for a Friday night . We arrived on time and were seating quickly. Noticed they were adhering to social distancing. Our server arrived at our table and took our order for drinks. I chose a wine off the menu, my husband ordered Hendricks gin. They only carry Tanguary, beefeater, and Bombay. He then chose a Malbec. Drinks came quickly. Ordered and appetizer. Fried mushrooms, came with a sauce, we were not sure what sauce was, but it was sweet. After ordering our second drink we ordered dinner. My spouse ordered the $32.00 filet, salad and twice baked potato. I ordered Chicken Vesuvius, sautéed chicken breast with garlic, white wine and potato wedges. Our meal started with soup, my spouse ordered the cream of asparagus, it was pretty good, I ordered French onion. It was a cup of beef bouillon, there was one onion sliver in my cup, one crouton and no cheese! Our salads arrived, we both chose blue cheese dressing, upgrade $1.50 more. We both tasted, dressing very sweet! I stop server and ask if he’s sure we received blu cheese? He says yes, I said very sweet. He offered another dressing, I asked about others but choices were limited and ranch was served with mushrooms, it too was sweet!! Our entrees arrived, both plates swimming in sauce, dinner were served in large bowl type plate. Filet really only tasted like beef bouillon. Mushrooms were canned and not fresh. Chicken was over cooked and swimming in chicken bouillon with garlic. Roasted potatoes were swimming as well. Was more like a bowl of garlic soup with dry chicken and large potato chunks. Server was unconcerned we were unhappy with meal. We were early for our evening so thought we would have a drink at the bar. As we sat at the table in the bar area, bartender took off his mask and complained about wearing it!!! We left. We will not be back and I will not recommended to anyone. For your prices this should have been much much better!! With all the sauce you should be a noodle restaurant!! We should have eaten at the speedway, it would have...
Read moreAwful!!! If I could give Sorrento's no stars I would. I went there Saturday Jan.26th for dinner with girlfriend and another couple. When we arrived was escorted to dining area to the left of greeter. The room was crowed but there was still 2 empty tables. Point 1. The waitress must have hit my chair 10 times as she went by. There are too many tables. The owner, Vince, packed the room so much with tables that you get hit when someone walks by. He does not care that you are top of the table next to you. We order the restaurant signature dish Prime beef, baked potato and 2 salads and baked onion soup and side order of mushrooms. The other couple had lasagna and cheese ravioli dish. Our waitress was waiting on our table and a downstairs private party. Point 2, the manger had no idea what was going on the floor. The salads were all iceberg lettuce, no greens, a slice of tomato, heavy on the croutons. Point 3- Salads with some greens it would be nice. The soup was good. The prime rib came out and it could have moo. We sent it back. I had our baked potato and nothing else for 10 minutes. The waitress got stuck downstairs at the private party. The prime beef finally came out but without the side order of mushrooms. The steak was thick but with a lot of fat on it. The beef was not a good. This was the second time I went there for this signature dish in the last month. Each time the beef was the same. I do not believe the owner, Vince, buys good beef. This night we got bits and pieces of the beef stuck in out teeth. The lasagna was o.k. but the other person only ate half of it. The cheese ravioli was also o.k. but again it was not finished. We came away $85 lighter. We are not going back. The food is inferior, the service was awful and the ambiance was of a cattle car. Go elsewhere not worth the trip nor your hard...
Read moreIt’s so disheartening to leave a poor review of this restaurant, but our final experience was one where we didn’t even have a chance to dine there. This should be a lesson that your customer’s experience isn’t only the food, but the way your customers are treated from the time they choose YOUR establishment and walk through the door. On this particular day, my Mom and I were on our way home from spending nearly 12 hours at a nearby hospital with her son, my brother. It was an exhausting and emotional day to say the least as my brother passed away that day. We hadn’t eaten and decided to end our day at Sorrento’s with a good meal. When we walked in, there were 2 ladies at the hostess podium chatting away (I know one was the owner) and completely ignored us as we stood there. No greeting, no smile. When they finished their conversation, she rudely asked if we had reservations. We told her we did not, but would gladly wait and had no seating preference. She bluntly told us there would be a very long wait, feeling that we were being encouraged to go elsewhere. We left and actually parted ways and went straight home. I realize there was no way she could have known what we went through that day and perhaps if she did, she would have been kind to us. But that shouldn’t matter! We will never, ever return to Sorrento’s because of...
