Love this place frequent customer for 10 years! But today (and it's now a routine problem) the usual large, busy staff was zipping around without getting anything done right the first time! (Cue the Benny Hill show soundtrack), went to the counter, ordered four items (first mistake, from experience I know two things are the limit before the confusion kicks in), cashier staff entered three out of the four items wrong, (e.g., chicken salad sandwich vs chicken salad, etc...you get the idea) note: order slips go directly to the bagging & bread slicing staff, not first to the customer for a review while at the same time the customer is paying the bill, Note: food items are not on the credit card receipt so this double check opportunity is not available. So, the 78rpm staff begin to deliver the wrong items in the right bags as we hand the bags back explaining the wrong items are in them, the staff promptly fills them with other wrong items and the fun continues until the customer, exasperated, pours all the bagged items out onto the glass countertop to audit what's been delivered against what has been ordered at that point items are reordered, and the bill is refigured for the correct items (today it was more, sometimes it's less). So, bottom line: get one "take" of this skit on tape for submission to Saturday Night Live ~ Second, hire the efficiency experts from the movie, "The Office" (since it can't get any worse), at least it will make for some live entertainment and somebody would get a red stapler out of...
Read moreWe got there at around 11 am and they were out of all but one bread. Had extremely limited number of items.
Everything started out by waiting, following social distancing guidelines, outside for around 9 minutes in the cold only to be told once near the door the had limited number of items.
To our surprise it was extremely limited number of items.
Here is my beef, I have traveled around the world and been to places that are definitely not as classy, but if they had limited or no items there was a sign or someone advising of the limitations.
In VA, Shirlington to be exact, to get to a well known bakery to find almost nothing at 11 am is ridiculous. Poor management. If I was corporate I would give a warning to the managers and then make sure they were let go if this happened again.
Will never waste my time going again and will definitely advise to not go there. There are much better and professional business all around. Just drive a bit further to Annandale and there you will Shilla's Bakery, Manoa, or Breeze. Better service, high quality and they don't run out at 11 am.
Last comment, some employees very arrogant. No products and arrogant employees. What else...
Read moreDisappointing experience today with the staff. I went by for a chocolate croissant for my daughter, who loves them. Hard to get up to Shirlington these days as we moved, but Best Buns has been worth it. Turns out the chocolate croissants are sold out (at 9:15 am on a Monday) because they let some corporate office clean them out for a meeting. I was told next time I could order them online, which is pointless if someone has already bought them all. I called the manager and he said there's no policy to prevent someone from buying all of one product, which also happens to take a long time to make. Seems to me that the corporate office should be the ones who need to put an online order in ahead of time, so the average customer doesn't miss out? What reason do people have, to go out of my their to keep spending money at Best Buns, if the store lets people clean out an entire product at once? Please rethink your store's policy. I'm going to...
