Central Coffee Roasters — Restaurant in Virginia

I happened by on a motorcycle ride (missed the 522 turn) and couldn't pass up the possibility of a new and relatively close source for good coffee. There are samples at the counter to try out for a small donation.

I started with three bags, the Holiday blend being the most recently roasted (day before). When I got home that evening I made up a fresh cup in the Chemex and really enjoyed it. I prefer single source rather than blends but this was smooth, hearty and not spiced or flavored. Just good coffee.

This place is a hidden gem! Came here to sample and select some coffee beans. The gentleman working there, whose name slips my mind, made us feel incredibly welcome. We indulged in a variety of coffee samples from regions I rarely come across, impressed by the freshness of the roasts and reasonable prices. Just from the fragrance when you walk in the door, you can tell their coffee beans are going to be great.

You can't get a cup of espresso (more's the pity :-) or any other fancy Italian-named coffee beverage. In the way of coffee, your choices are limited to 1) coffee beans, whole or ground, or 2) brewed coffee ($1 per cup!) But trust me, you'll enjoy either (or both).
