A small, out of the way Mexican restaurant. Large menu, takes time to review it from all of the many possible selections. My shrimp and scallops in a cheese sauce was not well cooked; that is, the small shrimp had been overcooked so we're tough and chewy. The very small scallops were likewise overcooked and had a fetid taste like maybe they had been left out of the refrigerator for too long before being cooked. I would advise avoiding that particular selection; note that I'm not advocating avoiding the restaurant. The reason: lots of locals were eating there and enjoying the food as well as the meal itself. And many more coming and going. So maybe I just had a lousy meal. The portion was pretty good, service was continuous and quick. We went to the attached convenience store then decided to go ahead and get a bite to eat here. Unfortunately it did not meet our expectations at all. Everything tasted like it came out of a can. Living in San Antonio TX for over 18 years, know the TexMex food (and love it). As mentioned the food was very good. The salsa was just EXCELLENT. I should say the best I ever had.
