After 6 days on Appalachian Trail, we could not land a better place than El Burrito Loco. I got Chicken Fajita and my wife got Veggie fajita. Very good. Living in San Antonio TX for over 18 years, know the TexMex food (and love it). As mentioned the food was very good. The salsa was just EXCELLENT. I should say the best I ever had. So good that we bought half a gallon salsa to bring it back to Dallas. We are sure that next year we will stop by again. I don't have any picture of the restaurant (well, exhausted when got there) but how about a picture from AT?

We were hungry and there wasn’t much around the area that was open at the time. We looked up Mexican and their Google reviews were good. We decided to give it a try. We were shocked to find out it was inside a gas station though. There were 12 of us and we all decided let’s give it a try. We were really surprised how good the food was. Everyone was happy with the flavor and quantity of it We would definitely come back again when in the area!

The salsa could use a little salt and lime for me to help sing through the tomato, but that’s all I would critique off of our meal. All I can say is I was pleasantly surprised by the food. This is why I like smaller restaurants, the “hidden gems”. If you’re ever in the area don’t hesitate to stop by. You’ll be met with smiling faces and amazing food. Thank you!!!

A small, out of the way Mexican restaurant. Large menu, takes time to review it from all of the many possible selections. My shrimp and scallops in a cheese sauce was not well cooked; that is, the small shrimp had been overcooked so we're tough and chewy. The very small scallops were likewise overcooked and had a fetid taste like maybe they had been left out of the refrigerator for too long before being cooked. I would advise avoiding that particular selection; note that I'm not advocating avoiding the restaurant. The reason: lots of locals were eating there and enjoying the food as well as the meal itself. And many more coming and going. So maybe I just had a lousy meal. The portion was pretty good, service was continuous and quick. Overall, the restaurant was clean, with the waiter polite and professional. So, if I have the opportunity to try this restaurant again I will, but I'll be very careful with my...

At the time of this post (11/11/2020) I was passing through in the process of moving from Houston, Texas to New York City. We went to the attached convenience store then decided to go ahead and get a bite to eat here. Unfortunately it did not meet our expectations at all. Everything tasted like it came out of a can. The staff however was very nice, kind, helpful, and informative. Nice place to find out about local attractions and better routes to your destinations, but the food was not good. I give 5 ☆'s for the service and 2 ☆'s for the food for an average of...
