I've eaten here many times and enjoyed it every time. Today our waitress openly admitted that they had lost our ticket... we had already been waiting for an hour for eggs bacon and toast however we just kindly said that's okay. We were there for an hour and 20 minutes before we ever got our food. We watched people come eat their breakfast and leave multiple times. The Omelette which was actually scrambled eggs with meat Incorporated was supposed to come with gravy but they were out of gravy. After all this we did ask for a discount since our simple breakfast of eggs bacon and toast took over an hour and cost almost $30....the owner came over and told us she was going to discount my husband's omelette because he didn't like it. First of all we didn't ask for Discount because we didn't like it, if you order something and you don't like it tough luck. It was the service and the amount of time it took to get our food that was deserving of a discount. The owner finally voided the entire ticket looked at us and said there you go have a great day rolled her eyes and threw her hands up in the air and walked off. Myself and my co-workers eat there at least once a week, if they choose to go back it'll be minus one. I could not believe the way the owner handled the situation, and then left her employees standing there to deal with us who were by the way very apologetic for the owner's actions. It's hard to keep it local with that kind of...
Read moreFamily Tree Ts Cafe lures you with its warm, homey diner vibe and a cheerful hostess who lets you choose your seat. The fried pickles appetizer was the lone star—crisp, tangy, genuinely satisfying. But it’s all downhill from there.
The sweet tea? Bland and unremarkable. My wife’s cheeseburger, explicitly ordered no onions and well-done, arrived buried in onions and a pink, medium mess. My double ribeye, requested medium-rare, was served overcooked to well-done—a far cry from the juicy promise. When I pointed out the steak’s doneness disaster, the waitress tossed out flimsy excuses about the kitchen “still dialing in” temperatures and cooking times, with no offer to replace or fix it. Worse, these smaller “new” steaks carried the same price tag as the former 16-ounce ribeyes.
Sides? Coleslaw was decent, but the potato salad was a flavorless letdown, and the fries had an odd aftertaste like it was cooked in overused fryer oil. Service started rough—our waitress, delayed by a to-go order call, left us waiting for drinks with only a half-hearted apology. A measly 10% discount at the end was an insult for a meal this botched. Whatever chaos gripped Family Tree Ts Cafe that night, it’s not worth your time or money. I will not be going back and can not recommend it as a place to stop for food in the area. One star for the hostess and...
Read moreIf I were rating this experience purely on the meatloaf, it would be a slam-dunk 5 of 5. However, I was not the only one dining and meatloaf isn't all I ate. My mashed potatoes came with gravy on them after asking for no gravy and man am I glad they did. They were dry and flavorless, so the gravy made them edible.
My family shared the fried pickle appetizer and it was really good. Some of the best we've had anywhere. The sweet tea was also amazing.
One of my kids had a cheeseburger that was dryer than desert sand.
My oldest wanted fettuccine with Alfredo from the kids menu, but was told they only do pasta after a certain time(to be fair, this is stated in the adult menu but not the kid's menu). They said they would make the noodles for her, but not the alfredo. She agreed and loved the noodles.
My wife wanted the fettuccine with alfredo as well, but opted for something different because of the time restraint on Alfredo sauce. I forget what she ordered, but she ultimately ended up not eating it because it was dry and not good.
My middle child was a happy camper with a donut and a really well priced pancake that was bigger than her head.
Overall, some of the food was amazing, some was okay, and some left a lot to be desired. I would say it is worth a try, but maybe go for dinner hours to have full...
