Golden Wok — Restaurant in Virginia

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. I purchased $45+ worth of food then upon arrival and payment asked for a few extra packets of duck sauce for the 3 orders of crab wontons I bought. The owner rudely threw 1 more packet into my bag and punched it across the counter to me. I then proceeded to explain to him that I needed a few more packets for all the crab wontons and egg rolls I had ordered. The owner then told me that if I wanted anymore he was going to charge me $2.50 per packet (there were only 6 packets in the bag plus the 1 he threw in for 3 orders of wontons, 6 egg rolls, and 4 spring rolls). I then tried to explain to him that I had just purchased a large amount of food from his establishment and was a returning customer, and that I only wanted a few more packets of sauce. Apparently this was an outlandish request for this owner. I will never order food from this establishment for the remainder of my time in Roanoke. Save your time and go to China Wok only a few mins down the road. Food is better and the customer service...

Decent but not the best chinese in Roanoke. I have tried Golden Wok 3 times now.... 3rd time is my last time. I think some of the other area chinese restaurants are better. The owners don't like it when you ask for extra stuff, regardless what it is. If you ask be prepared to pay a random $ amount.. maybe $1 maybe a few cents... The owner is friendly and random... a pretty good atmosphere but still, the food isn't as good as other area chinese places.. their amount of customers shows that too. all 3 times i came it was just me by myself in the restaurant.. no other customers. the 2nd time was on a busy Friday night and the phone didn't ring either in the 15-20 min i was waiting for...

My sister recently bought her and I some General Taos chicken from Golden Wok. This place is located next to the Food Lion that closed down at Brookside. The General Taos was too sweet for me. My sister didn’t really care for the owner, Rick. She said he came off as annoying. After we ate we asked some friends what they think of this place and heard mixed reviews. This place seems to have atleast a few regular customers. However, we heard several people say this place was terrible, and they didn’t like the owner, Rick.
