Steak Frites* / $ 18.50 Grilled marinated beef sirloin, served atop our house cut fries & house made Worcestershire.
I don’t have pictures of all unfortunately but the best thing was the warm pimento dip. Every thing else was a little “skimpy” for the price we paid. Only two breaded chicken tenders in the meal. Steak was supposed to come out medium rare but seems like it cooked more on the plate as it sat and ended up well done on the outside pieces and medium well on the inside . Definitely was not worth $18 for that meal and fries. All the dips that came with the meals were good . The blue cheese was the best I’m guessing made in house ? Blue Crab Rangoon did not have much crab mixture inside of the fried wonton. I do wish the windows had curtains to close when the sun is bright and on a persons face the entire time they are eating inside. And oddly I feel like some of the menu items others shared were not on my menu ? So I’m guessing the menu changes frequently so that might be a plus to try new things every...
Read moreBAIT AND SWITCH MENU - POOR QUALITY FOOD
We drove an hour out of our way to eat here, based on the advertised menu and reviews.
Firstly, the actual basic bar food that is served here does NOT match the gastro pub style menu that is promoted on line. No country fried wild boar, or crab cakes, just bland burgers, and salads.
Service - Disengaged wait staff.
Appetizers We ordered chicken wings and the humus plate (bar food!), the wings arrived without plates. The wings had a dry buffalo coating, so I'm guessing pre-coated frozen wings. Our server disappeared and didn't return. The humus plate never showed up. As our server went AWOL I grabbed another server, who took care of us. The humus plate arrived just before our main course, complete with fridge cold bread and oily humus.
Main Course Bland burger, cold cheap "Food Lion" bun, limp warmed over fries. Steak Frites. Small quantity of unseasoned dry beef, with the same limp fries that arrived with the burger. No melted butter, no herbs on the fries.
We were really disappointed by the poor food quality and lazy service. I ate better quality food at Louisville Airport Chilli's earlier this week.
No excuse for the real vs online, bait and switch menu, or the low quality food. Folks work hard for their money, and deserve...
Read moreDISAPPOINTED! I was super excited to find a new place close by that others said was good. Two of us went in at dinner time. Stood at the door numerous minutes while noone acknowledged us and yet several workers passed by and looked at us. Finally a lady came up and said the wait would be about 10 minutes while they cleaned off several tables and that there was going to be a large party so she couldn't tell us what that would mean for the kitchen. And 'I guess you don't have a reservation, do you?' It's as if she was telling us to leave. There was already 4 empty tables on the parking side porch open, a couple on the back side porch and at least 3 in the room we could see, and they were all clean. We waited, and another lady came by mentioned cleaning tables and mumbled something about reservations. We waited. About 20 minutes in and watching others come in and sit without saying a word to anyone, we left. Poor, Poor, Poor! But I am sure your competitor down the road appreciated our business, as they always have. We will continue to eat there and probably will never try your establishment. Oh and if reservations are required, maybe you could mention that on FB, internet and/or your door instead of being...
