UPDATE: We've been back a few times but our visit last night had much to be desired. They were fairly busy, but only had one waitress. She seated us upon arrival but it took some time for her to come back and take our order. We had a bit of a hard time communicating with her. Come the end of the meal, we asked for boxes. She took my husband's plate away and provided a box for me. When we asked for the other box, she didn't seem to understand what we were asking. After some broken Spanish on our part, she gave us back the taken dish so we could pack it up. Then came the issue of the check. We gave her a credit card and she came back with it. She repeatedly pointed to the check, saying "otro". We weren't clear with what she was trying to say. At first we thought our card was declined and she needed another. Then we though they only accepted cash. Somehow, we figured out she was trying to tell us we needed to pay with an app, which was a first for us here. I understand this is a Peruvian restaurant, but not all of your patrons will be Peruvian. Even thought the food is delicious, it will be quite some time before we come back.
We tried them for the first time last night and I have to say, this is a real hidden gem. They are still working on signage so it's a bit hard to see them at night. This is a small little place in small business district but don't let that keep you away. It's a bit on the dark side outside, especially right now (early January) but the parking lights are triggered by motion so we didn't feel unsafe by any means. For the restaurant itself, the service was great. Very friendly and efficient. The food was amazing! We both had the lomo soltado. The steak was perfect, tender and well seasoned. I mean, it couldn't have been cooked better. The portion was rather large and even though I felt like I ate a lot, I still had about half my meal left to take home. Overall, we really enjoyed our visit and I think this will be a frequent visit on...
Read moreBeen to this location more than a couple times since they opened. The service and quality has gone down with everyth visit. I know sometimes staffing can be an issue but this is the last time we will dine here. They don't have a kids friendly menu . Knowing this we still come because the food has good taste so we figured we could order a smaller option like empanadas or the salchicha for my three year old and a side of rice. Everything we asked they were out of. No empanadas, no salchicha, no papá rellena and basically nothing from their sides menu. The waitress said I don't know why they have it on the menu when we never carry it. Fast forward our food comes out we begin to eat. No one ever came to ask how everything was, if we needed anything sauces, hot sauce anything. I found a piece of plastic cooked with my food, had to call the waitress and she " took it to the kitchen to let them know to be careful next time". We had to grab our own additional ketchup and mustard from other tables as well as napkins. Then a different waitress came to ask if everything was ok and if there was any plates she needed to remove. Mind you this is after we are all done/almost done eating, I responded with well we are done now so no thanks and she cut me off and spoke to me slowly as if I didnt understand the words coming out her mouth. It was very rude and disrespectful. The service was terrible, the attention to their customers would be zero or a negative. Only reason why it has a one star review is because the lomo did taste ok even though it had plastic. Will never return and will definitely stop recommending this place. Worst part was the manager was there and never once came by to apologize for the plastic in our food. Also this is just because I'm so upset with my experience that their side door did not close and no one from the staff cared to properly shut it being a very cold...
Read moreWe found this online and decided to go for dinner one Friday. We were given a menu. When the time came to order , the male server said they were out of the items that we wanted to order. We then decided to go with a different entree and again we were told they didn't have the other one too. We had to settle with entree we didn't even like from the menu. The server clearly saw our frustration and he didn't even bother to apologize for not being able to order almost half of the entree from the menu. It was already late to go to some other restaurant to eat what we wanted to eat. So we just ordered things and settled with it. And then we were done eating. Asked for check. Gave our card Then as we were leaving a gratuity, we found out the male server added gratuity by himself. He charged us 21% service charge by himself. I know if you have a group of 6 or more, most places charge upfront. He charged us more than the normal rate without our permission and on top, he didn't even bother to tell us that it was factored into already. He probably thought we wont notice and tip him double. That is plain wrong and illegal in so many levels. It was a very frustrating experience. I know nobody I know will be ever going to this place. Please be careful if you do go...
