Just ate here for dinner. Quite a few cars in parking lot. Walked in and we're greeted right away, even though the host was over by the bar. He promptly walked over to greet us. Was told that their big tables were all taken, so he would have to seat our party of 7 at two tables. This was fine, not their fault in the least.
Waiter came promptly after being seated. He was young, but had been trained well. He was able to recite the specials easily. He kept our drinks refilled without being asked. Came to ask if we had questions about the menu. Our kids sat at the other table by themselves. He was attentive to them as well as us. Even going as far as to help with the ketchup when they were having problems. Checked on us regularly.
As we were waiting for our food to come, the waiter brought out a dish for each table with a sample of their fresh baked pumpkin bread. Delicious. The meals came quickly. We had the tenderloin and the huntsman chicken. The kids all had off the kids menu, except one. They all said their food was good. The tenderloin was cooked prefectly, and they allowed me to exchange the risotto for mashed potatoes with no problems. The huntsman chicken is pretty much chicken parmigiano with fettuccine instead of spaghetti. My wife is not a fan of fettuccine but said the chicken was wonderful. Moist on the inside, crisp on the outside. The sauce was delicious also. The mac and cheese was made from scratch it tasted like. They had specials for dessert also, we got the carrot cake with caramel sauce. It was moist and heavenly.
Finished dishes were cleared away quickly, even from other waiters passing by. When other tables left, they were quickly cleaned.

Read moreOur family come here half expecting it to be bad considering the parking lot had 5 cars in it (we ate around 6pm on a saturday)and the reviews were so diverse, but we came anyways. Here is my observation. 1.We were seated promptly,it wasnt busy at all....the waiter seemed nervous possibly because he looked like he was around 16ish and it may be his first job,but did very well,on time with refills and not too overbearing..able enough to describe the specials and dishes. The food to my families expectations were good considering two of my boys are picky about non fast food restaurants and the menu was rather short with slim pickings on steak and chicken entrees so i chose the barbecue plate, which was good, that is if you like your bbq moist,I like mine dry and with a lot of vinegar and pepper, which this didn't have...it came with pork and beans that were undercooked and slaw that had an appropriate amount for me and a tasty corn muffin. Overall atmosphere was good, neat and orderly, about 10 mins after we arrived it became pretty busy and I didn't notice anyone waiting too long either. So to sum it up it was a decent restaraunt, nothing that would make me want to come back dying for more but it satisfied...
Read moreThe Huntsman Grill in Williamsburg, Virginia offers a unique dining experience with a menu inspired by the "hunt." While the food was undeniably tasty, with creative options like alligator gumbo and elk, the overall experience was unfortunately marred by poor service. The restaurant appears to be severely understaffed, resulting in long wait times and inattentive service. Our server, though friendly, was clearly overwhelmed and struggled to keep up with the demands of a busy dining room. This impacted the pacing of our meal and detracted from the overall ambiance. Despite the service hiccups, the food itself was a highlight. The unique protein choices were well-prepared and flavorful. The accompanying sides and appetizers were equally delicious. The restaurant's proximity to Great Wolf Lodge adds a thematic element, making it a convenient and potentially appealing option for families visiting the water park. However, until The Huntsman Grill addresses its staffing issues, it's difficult to fully recommend. While the food is worth trying, be prepared for potentially slow and...
