If I could I would give 3.5 stars because like most places it looked like they were understaffed which is a common theme with most places these days. Our server was polite, but running around like crazy trying to keep up with everything, so she wasn't that attentive or friendly... But again completely understandable if they were having staffing issues. Everything was a bit pricey, but everything has gone up in price at restaurants and grocery stores recently, so it's understandable.
The food seemed to be hit or miss, but the general theme was under seasoned. My daughter ordered the lobster Mac and Cheese, which was great and tasty, (although she discovered she doesn't like lobster lol). My Mother loved the seafood casserole. My sister loved the seafood dinner for one, and the portion was generous. I had the half and half with haddock and chicken, which was bland but perfectly cooked. The Ceasar salad was great. (there are salt and pepper shakers on the tables so we could season to taste at least). My husband had the steak tips with mashed potatoes. The steak was overcooked and all mashed potatoes had way to much butter, so no one could eat them.
The restaurant itself is super cute with nice decorations and cute murals on the walls, so kids would have plenty to look at.
I like how the take out containers are little aluminum foil pans, so they will 100% be recyclable
We will be coming back again, and sample...
Read moreThis was our 1st time at blue bay. My daughter had gotten a gift certificate for us for Christmas. I called at opening which was 4pm today. The person who answered was very nice and took my order as we were getting take out. I told her our eta which was about 30 mins away. I went in and was greeted by the hostess she took my name and promptly handed me my food. There was a balance left which she returned to me in cash. We ordered a basket of onion rings and clam chowder for apps. Then we ordered the seafood platter for 2 which was 46$. Omg the food was so good and still hot when we got home. I made 2 huge plates out of the food and still have 2 pieces of fish ff and onion rings leftover. We decided to wait till tomorrow to eat the clam chowder as we are getting 18 in of snow tonight and tomorrow so clam chowder will be great tomorrow. Now about the food. The scallops were the hit of the plate huge sea scallops that were so fresh and juicy The fish and shrimp also juicy not dried out at all. The clams were small but tasty. The onion rings were awesome new England style onion rings, thinly sliced and hand battered. We will definitely be back. I can't wait to try the other menu items. Although we didn't eat there I went in to get the food and there is a lounge side and a restaurant side with tablecloths and flowers on every table. Very clean. Great customer service. Looking forward to our...
Read moreI went with the family to this establishment. Actually the 2nd visit. The first was before the Corona pandemic and then again last evening. The 1st time was indoor dining which was very pleasant. Good food and the main reason, lol a pool tournament. Well needless to say the food was definitely more satisfying than my ability to play pool. We went back to Blue Bay this time mainly to hear my granddaughter sing Friday night karaoke. It was held outside on there patio area. The dining and bar were all set up with the proper guidelines spacial separation of all seating. The outside was also spaced appropriately. We ordered several different items from the menu. Clam chowder, Seafood chowder, Teriyaki Wings, Chicken Broccoli Alfredo, and the Lobster Ravioli. Everything was well seasoned and very fulfilling. The Lobster Ravioli was made with fresh lobster claws and knuckles which in my opinion is perfect for that dish the pasta was cooked the right amount of time. Just the right texture. The Clam and Seafood Chowders were filled with potatoes, clams, scallop, shrimp, haddock. Smooth creamy texture. Everything tasted great. Everything was eaten except for the Chicken Broccoli Alfredo which was to filling and ended being doggy bagged to be...
