Simply girly tea perfection! Thanks a bunch to my friend for finding this gem and treating me tea at this lovely business. Originally she e-mailed the owner to attempt to make a reservation within 2 weeks of our desired date, but this place was already all booked up. Lucky for us someone else canceled their reservation and we were able to pick up the time! At $26/person it's a bit pricey for just tea and treats considering you could get a very filling meal elsewhere at several restaurants. However, after my experience at the Sea Grille, I can't complain about the cost one bit!

The business owner, Sarah and her husband greeted us when we arrived and ushered us into the semi-private Pink room for our reservation to pick our teas for them to start brewing. They presented us an extensive menu with many different types of teas, several imported. There was even an loose insert page showing the NEW teas. Since it was our first time here we went with the classics "Paris" (fruity bergamont) and "Royal Wedding". Everything set up in the room was utterly adorable! The one downside is that it is clearly targeted for females or pink lovers, so it may not be a place that would be good for dates. When our tea pots arrived they also had these lovely tea warmer cozy covers to keep the tea hot so we could take our time sipping.

Our 2-person tier tray of sweets and mini-sandwiches also arrived soon after. We snacked on scones with the wonderful clotted cream (new delight!) and jam. There were cupcakes, macaroons and tasty savory sandwiches. I was surprised that near the end I was actually getting quite full (maybe mostly with liquids) and they provided us with a to-go box to save the rest of the morsels for later.

Fancy That has several rooms on the first floor for private tea and reservations are required since I believe the whole place can only accommodate up to ~20 people. They also have more open tables in the front for 2-4 people. As you we were waiting around during our reservation, we also perused through the gift shop. She has all of the cutest tea accompaniments such as tea pot cozies, tea cup night lights, tea cup holders, various teas from the menu and tea sugars. Of course I LOVED the Paris tea so much we picked up a 20 sachet tin of them for $9, and later on I ordered more directly from Harney & Sons. (Here's the collector in me coming into play.) Occasionally they will also host events. I went to their open house with my friends sampling the newest Pink Tea and Pink Hot Chocolate.

I'm not sure what other occasions are coming up but I'm already thinking of ideas to gather my lady friends for a...

Fancy That provides an ideal marriage of a dreamy-cute aesthetic and well crafted food that guarantees a wonderful afternoon tea experience that you can't easily find.

When you walk into Fancy That, you walk into an afternoon tea fantasy world. Decorated with vintage cups and saucers and whimsical artifacts of all stripes, you have no lack of things to look at and be inspired by.

I was shepherded to a private little tea room by one of the warm and welcoming staff members, and soon thereafter, once the rest of our party arrived and settled in, was asked what tea I desired.

Their tea list, available online, is expansive to say the least. I decided on Fireside - a smokey and tea that paired well with all the sweets that laid ahead.

The tea tray, filled to the brim with exciting treats, arrived quickly. A small sign on the table explained what was on each tier - after it was dropped off, we did not see the staff again until the end of the meal. If we had needed anything, a bell was provided.

Now this? This was something I loved. My friends and I were left alone to enjoy ourselves in a private space, allowed to fully submerge ourselves in the moment without distraction. I could certainly get used to this.

The food itself was really good. Highlights were:

The chicken salad with apricot jam. Apricot jam is a surprisingly perfect accompaniment for a savory chicken salad. Nice and light, it was a delight.

The birthday cake scone. Sweet and well textured, it went really well with clotted cream and jam.

The S'mores dessert shot. I love the S'mores flavor profile to begin with, and in this form? Brilliant. All of the flavour and none of the fuss.

Long and short, there were lots of great flavours and near perfect execution.

The lowpoints were so few and minor that they would be highpoints in some of the other tea places I have gone to. I honestly have nothing bad to say - Fancy That may well be the best place for afternoon tea in Southern...

Date of Experience: 08/29/2021 Rating: 4.5 Stars.

A friend and I came across Fancy That on Facebook and decided to go because we both love tea. The location was very easy to get to and I was happy that they have their own parking. Our reservation was at 10:30 and they seated us in the “Yellow” room immediately. I was pleasantly surprised and excited that there was so much pink, as it is one of my favorite colors. The rooms were beautiful, and all the decor was lovely. Very clean, as well. Hospitality was excellent. The owner is very kind, friendly and informative. We were also very happy that she was willing to take a photo of us together to capture the experience. I got the “Mocha Chocolat” tea which is: black tea, coffee beans, chocolate and white chocolate bits and maple sugar. It was by far one of the best teas I’ve had and enjoyed it so much I bought it. The pastries, sandwiches, scones and more was delicious! Everything that we ate was incredible. You are able to purchase teas and other things like Clotted Cream-which is delicious.

Overall, I definitely recommend this place for the experience and TEA especially!! It was a lovely place to have a “Girls Day”.

Age Restriction: I’m a 30 year old women and I felt scared I would break something. I completely agree with the age limit of I believe 12+ because there is a lot of China and glass and things that are delicate that can break. It was also enjoyable to have a place to get away from younger children to enjoy a tea, food and conversation.

The only reason I gave the rating of 4.5 stars instead of 5 stars is just because the pricing is a little more. Between two people it was $66.00 with tax. But you are paying for what you get. Regardless of that, we will be back no...
