Ship's Place — Restaurant in Wapello

When we arrived we were seated right away. The waitress took our drink order within a couple of minutes. When she came back with the drinks she took our food order. We ordered two appetizers and the three of us each ordered an entree. That is the end of the good experience. Three tables who came after us got their appetizers first. After and hour and ten minutes our entrees came and one appetizer came at the same time. After 5 minutes with our entrees we told the waitress to just forget about the second appetizer. The entrees we ordered were a tenderloin, a Chicago style hot dog, and a grilled cheese. that is what took over an hour to get to us. The food was fine, not great, not bad, but the service was terrible. The restaurant itself isn't very large but has high ceilings. The walls and floors are all hard materials, therefore the noise is so loud you have to shout to be heard by the people you are sitting with. We will not be returning any time...

Loved it. Only way I can get my wife to eat cauliflower. Breaded and fried. Can't get that anywhere anymore. I had the tenderloin, my wife had the adult grilled cheese. Tenderloin was like everywhere else, big and thin. I prefer them smaller and thicker myself. Although it was still good. Excellent breading and seasonings. Great atmosphere, very friendly. Waitresses are all very nice and pleasant to deal with. Cook even came out and asked how our meal was. I thought that was impressive. Thanks to Ship's Place for a nice meal and great experience. Such great customer service. ALL of the staff were so friendly. Food was on our table in no time at all, and it was absolutely delish!! And the lake view from our table was a true bonus. I think you would be able to access the view from any table they have. The bar is HUGE and separated from the dining area ever so slightly... but it seemed like...
