It's been a few years since I went to Tap and Pour and I didn't realize they bought the property next door and essentially doubled their space. It's either that, or they tore the wall down that used to be there and I never knew they had another area/room.
I decided to visit this bar again because I heard from a coworker that their burgers were pretty good. Of the two I tried recently, I definitely enjoyed their Backyard burger. I also ordered their Sweet Potato Fries which they cook a bit crispy but still with some softness. Their drink selection was great as well.
I came to Tap and Pour to meetup with some friends to play board games for a few hours during lunch, and the servers accommodated us well. The only recommendation I can give for improvement is the accuracy of the orders taken by the servers. Most of the servers were fine, but one in particular didn't really keep track well of who ordered what drink. My party was told upon leaving that our original server had ended her shift for the day but that she had mixed up the bills/receipts for the drinks each individual in my party ordered. The employee that helped us close out our tabs ended up writing off the drinks for the inconvenience. I felt bad that he needed to charge the drinks as a business write-off because he couldn't tell who ordered what drink because the previous server just added everyone's drinks together and divided it by the number of people in our party. I'm assuming he couldn't undo it in their system because the previous server had finalized the sale. I felt bad for the guy, so I gave around a 40-50% tip off the total of my bill to cover what would have been the cost of the drinks my boyfriend and I ordered. It was just only one server in particular, but we hope that all the servers will keep better track of orders in the future. The other thing I noticed is we stacked our plates onto and empty table next to us since the place wasn't crowded the Saturday afternoon we went. Though it stayed there for quite a few hours. We were surprised no one had taken them away earlier since we did see servers walking around the entire time, but it was a relaxing day and the atmosphere was pretty chill. It was just something that stood out to me.
Anyways, we definitely look forward to going to Tap and Pour again and possibly doing our board game meetups once a month here. My friends and I were definitely happy with how well they...
Read moreUPDATED 10/22 If I could give this place zero stars, I would!!! Was denied service due to having 13 people in our party. I understand their reservation policy, but we weren't asking to be seated together, we were willing to be seated in separate tables even if they were across the room, all we wanted was some beer and food. They said "no". Never again!
UPDATED 9/27 As I said before, service can be touch & and go, BUT one thing you can't be is rude to your patrons. And unfortunately, that's what I got today from the server with short stripped hair. To tell me that you can't seat me because I don't have a reservation EVEN after telling her that I just wanted a table for 3 and when the main party shows up, they can figure it out themselves is unacceptable. Thank goodness for the person behind the bar that provided good customer service and figured out that the party DID have a reservation. Management has got to train their servers a little better. Local hangout and gathering pub for base personnel. The beer and atmosphere are great, the food has gotten better. Service really depends on how crowded it is. The new patio area is amazing, and I can definitely see this getting more popular in the warmer seasons. Highly...
Read moreThe only positive thing I can say is the fries were good. I agree with other reviewers that ordering at the bar is uncomfortable. You have to reach around other patrons for a menu. I wanted ice water because I was the designated driver, and was directed to serve myself at station over by the kitchen. It consisted of stacked plastic glasses, and 2 open pitchers of water. Hello germs! One was nearly empty. They were both room temperature, and not one ice cube in either pitcher. Had to get my own straw. We had to tip when ordering before we got the food and drinks. So, no matter the service or quality of food, you've already tipped them. And we were not given any silverware. The burgers and fries were served in a cramped metal basket, all squished together. Please, put them on plates! When you pick up the burger, the fries fall over into the burgers place. And if you put down the burger between bites, you have to set it down on top of the fries because there's no room. The napkins were a roll of cheap paper towels. All of of our burgers were undercooked and raw in the middle. We took them home and fed them to our dogs. Three burgers, one appetizer, and two draft beers, with prepaid tip,...
