Not enough people take the time to write a review when they’ve had a good experience, most only do with a negative one. That being said…I’m working in Warroad, I had heard about the pizza here, figured I’d give it a shot. Came in at a slower time, ordered a cheese pie to give myself a good base to start from and try some of their other pizzas at another time. Keep in mind, I’ve never had authentic NY style pizza before. I’m from northern Wisconsin so I’m accustomed to Wisco pub style pizza. First off, the service and bartender were great, friendly, quick with a drink. My pizza was ready within 15 minutes. I was able to introduce myself to the owner, seems like a great guy, (also has great taste in music)super friendly, very proud of what he does and I dig that. He told me all the base of the pizza is from in house, dough, sauce and you can witness him making it right in front of you. NY style seems like Wisco pub style, thin crust but with a flop to it and a well done crust edge that is bubblier(if that makes sense) and this has to be the best cheese pizza I’ve ever had in my life, light crust, full of flavor, great cheese and sauce, crust is thin, crunchy at the edge, cheese was fresh tasting, sauce was mild, not overdone, not too much, with a great flavor to it. I’m definitely going back! They’ve switched me from Chicago style pizza being my favorite to NY style, Support this business! By the way, very reasonable prices for the size of pizza you’re buying! Final note, I may be biased but I’m just hoping he sources his cheese...
Read moreEdited after owner’s reply: I certainly won’t need to make any assumptions about this owner’s customer service skills. My initial review wasn’t based on assumptions; all information contained within was a result of my experience and information provided by Nomad Pizza staff. It was an accurate account of multiple occasions. I support a business that struggles sometimes, takes constructive feedback, and strives to do better, but that certainly isn’t the case here. Instead of spending your time leaving snarky replies, I’d suggest taking a data analysis and forecasting course.
Good Pizza, Poor Business Operations I recently tried Nomad Pizza and was incredibly pleased with my first experience. The pizza was delicious—the best in northern MN—and the staff was friendly when I picked up my carryout order. I was thrilled to have finally found a great pizza spot. Unfortunately, my excitement quickly turned into frustration. I've tried to order pizza on multiple occasions since my first visit but have been unsuccessful each time. When I call, the phone is off the hook, and when I stop by, I'm told they are no longer serving food, on top of the already limited hours. Improvements in planning and communication are desperately needed. Figuring out how much dough to prepare and keeping customers informed about your status would go a long way. Instead of taking the phone off the hook, communicate with...
Read moreHard to say if the server was just uncaring or overworked. Either way very poor service and very unfriendly. Food took FOREVER with no apologies from the server. Food was burned black on top but before I could say anything the server ran away. The dish came with bland sauce, and about a teaspoons worth! I didn't know plastic cups came that small! Scrapped the burned top off the food and it was surprisingly pretty good! At least the parts that weren't charred. Server never even asked how my food was or if I needed anything else. Guess she didnt need to since it was obvious. I came away with the feeling that the owner is a penny pincher - thus the under staffing and a micron of sauce. Or maybe it's just bad service. My guess is its both. Won't...
