Been coming here for years - but no more.
Lots of great family Backdraft memories over the years. But all our family visits ended suddenly in a rage by the drunken owner of 2 years.
On a recent slow night, we ordered a meal from the female bartender (with the female owner enjoying a drink in the corner). After 30 minutes without food or an update, we asked about our meal and got a scowl from the new bartender (never seen her before). We blew it off and waited another 15 minutes then asked how the heck it takes 45 minutes to get our order with no other patrons around. We could have been a little less frustrated, yes - but the disproportionate response blew us away: after the bartender lady scampered away, the owner from the corner of the place stormed at us yelling that we had no right to treat her people so badly (!). As luck would have it, the cook was bringing out our meal at that very moment with a big apologetic look on his face. But at that moment, the owner grabbed the food in transit and threw it on the floor of her own establishment and yelled at us to get out and to never come back.
So we didn't. And we won't. We're building new memories at the Dead Rise Grill, The Tavern (at Cole's Point) and Los Portals instead.
Update: owner replied to my review claiming I have something against her (I don't) and that it didn't happen (it did). Not used to being called a liar in a review, but...

I love the wings here so four of us decided to try brunch. Based on the full parking lot, I could tell they were very busy. A young waitress said we could sit in the no-smoking section but all the available tables hadn’t been bused because of how busy they were. We said “no problem” and picked the one with only two glasses of water and someone’s check on it. And we waited. And waited. After fifteen minutes, my wife went to the front of the area and retrieved menus so we could determine what to have, since two of our quartet had a three-hour drive after brunch. After another fifteen minutes our waitress came over and said “I didn’t know you were new customers because you sat at a dirty table and you are SUPPOSED to wait to be seated.” Her vitriol hung in the air. She spun on her heals after the rude remark and power walked across the floor. If she had smiled after her jab, I would have told her the other waitress, the young, nice and obviously not stressed out one, told us find a seat. As I led off with, I love the wings here, but from now on will settle for air-fried chicken nuggets from Food Lion before ever stepping foot in Backdraft...
Read moreI recently hosted a party at Backdraft in Hague, and I couldn’t be more impressed with the experience! From start to finish, everything was exceptional. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for a celebration. Tiffany and Mary went above and beyond to ensure that every guest felt welcome and well taken care of.
The food was absolutely delicious. The brisket was cooked to perfection, with a great variety of flavors that satisfied every taste. The seafood pasta was a hit, and the sides were both flavorful and beautifully presented. The quality of the ingredients and attention to detail in every dish truly stood out.
What really set this place apart was the outstanding service. Mary and Tiffany were attentive without being intrusive, and they made sure everything ran smoothly. They were quick to respond to requests and always with a smile.
If you’re looking for a venue that combines great food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere for your next event, I highly recommend Backdraft in Hague. It was a perfect choice for our celebration, and I can’t...
