I stopped here for a quick dinner on a Wednesday evening in June. I have been here a bunch of times prior to this and can’t believe I missed doing a review before. I usually don’t have a meal here tho, I typically stop in for baked oatmeal or cookies to go when I’m in this area. In this occasion I had the Turkey pesto sandwich. It was good. The bread was very soft and tasted fresh. You order at the counter then go pick it up when your buzzer tells you it’s ready. Their baked oatmeal looks like a muffin and is wrapped in plastic so it’s easy to just grab and go. You can warm it up and as milk at home if you want. I just eat it as is. It’s always moist and flavorful. They have a curry chicken salad that is good to. You can get that in a container to go from their small deli case. They also have frozen soups to go. The atmosphere is very much like a coffee shop. Yes, they have coffee too. It’s rustic and cozy. I have never been here when it’s crowded so it’s always easygoing for me. The staff are always polite. Prices are very reasonable compared to other similar locations. Parking is easy although there is only one way to get in and get out depending on which direction you are heading.

We live in Lititz and had come to Zigs bakery about every 4-6 months. Very disappointed as service has significantly decreased to the point that I am not sure if management cares to keep the reputation or train employees. ( see other reviews on Google and Facebook). Negatives: All 3 employee we encountered tonight were not helpful and gave me wrong information about availability of ingredients causing more confusion to redo our large order. They used to have hot meals but now they can’t even warm up Sheppards pie or beef BBQ in microwave for the customer ( I asked because kids love those meals). Why, why would I want to come back when choices are limited and service is not available/good? Trash cans are full Positive is: baking good are very tasty and yummy with reasonable price. Final thoughts: Example of small business that was about community and customers but is not currently.

While zigs food and drinks are always fresh and delicious their service can be only described as " chaos " as soon as they get slightly busy the wait times are horrible ( even with 4-6 young girls / a guy ) working if I was the owner I would visit undercover during any slightly busy times and quickly they would realize they need better management when it comes to keeping the work flow moving. And not wasting time, many people waiting for food and drinks were rolling their eyes at the lack of organization, there needs to be a better system when ordering and waiting than the chaos mess we experienced, the good food and drinks and friendly people keep customers coming back but the lost potential I feel is large. What could be an amazing lititz spot is turned into just a "good place " to get good food but with better management, the potential for zigs is limitless

The tomato bisque was the star of my visit! Thick, rich, creamy and full of tomato flavor. The baguette, croissants and savory cheese and chive scones were also excellent! Hubs did not like the apple pie; it was underwhelming in taste, just bland, like a mass produced pie from the Acme or Giant. He also wished the crust would have been better, to be more like the delicious butter crusts from Gracie's in Leola. The major disappointment was the quiche. Where do I start? The crust tasted like the apple pie crust, so there is much room for improvement. Please use butter crusts; if they are butter crusts, the recipe needs to be changed....immediately. It's a terrible, cheap tasting crust. Now for the filling. OMG. I purchased a whole quiche (Lorraine). The "bacon" was an odd, chewy in a bad way, not meant for people to eat, textured ham, I'm guessing? Whatever type of meat it was, had to be picked out of the pie and discarded. It was inedible. The cheese was non-existent. Why? Quiches need cheese! Lorraine style should have bacon, Swiss cheese and onion; none of those ingredients could be found. I didn't taste ANY cheese, let alone tangy, nutty Swiss. Any onion flavor, a crucial element to quiche Lorraine, was missing as well. Another thing, a good slice of quiche should have its ingredients mixed throughout the slice; this quiche only had ingredients on the top of it; none mixed into the rest of the pie. To say I was disappointed in the quiche, is an understatement. Never again!! I wanted to love it but ended up throwing it away because it was so bad... inedible. I gave this bakery a middle score because the soup and bread items I have tried were STELLAR, their signature items in my opinion, and the pie and quiche were not good in any way,...

Been there 2x and both times the food was very good. Typical homecooking foods that are made a step up in quality . Breakfast sandwiches and quiche were stellar. Lunch items were also quite tasty. Side dishes were a real portion which I appreciated and not the little pill cup size some other places use which just annoys me. That said the reason I gave it only 5 stars was....... not enough heated food choices. On a brisk day it would be nice to eat a warm sandwich and they only had one warm sandwich choice the day I went for lunch, which was a meatball sandwich. No warm sides which was a disappointment .A few things were very good but a little bland. i find bland is typical around this area but I wish they would zip up the sandwiches and sides a bit. They ARE very good just would be better with a little more seasoning. Loved the atmosphere but the place was kind of cold on a brisk day which made me want to hurry and be done and not able to fully enjoy my lunch. Place is a tad confusing about ordering. Do I order front or back or both or what. Also have to really look at discreet signs posted here and there to actually see everything you can order. LASTLY... staff was very accommodating and pleasant. Even though I was thoroughly confused about what and where to order they happily directed me and took my order. Definitely worth the trip and the actual QUALITY of the food...
