Wonderful breakfast foods in a classic diner like feel, that is what you get at Sunrise Cafe. I have lived in the area for many years, and heard great reviews of this place, but just never went. We have gone twice now, and this is instantly our “breakfast spot”! Anything you order is delicious... whether it be a tasty plate-sized pancake with a good choice of filling, or a perfectly cooked omelette, also with a variety of fillings, you can’t go wrong. My personal favorite is the “steak bomb” breakfast sandwich. Comes with egg, mushroom, and shaved steak you can cut with a butter knife, on a sweet roll with a side of home fries. Perfecto! I really dont know what happened to this place. Our most recent visit was bizarre and borderline awful. I believe the server and cook are husband/wife and it felt like they just had a fight or something. Service was extremely slow, we probably sat for 10-15 minutes ungreeted. Server was visably upset and there seemed to be no communication between her and the cook. Throughout the meal service was very unattentive and we had to ask for our check after another wait. Food was also not on point. This was a solid 4 to 5 star breakfast spot in years past, the most recent visit was a 1 star. Delicious, fresh food at a reasonable price, realistic wait time, and cozy atmosphere. Friendly patrons - if a conversation with them ever seems fast paced, it's always because they're working hard to deliver amazing food to customers. May not be 100% 'traditional American diner' but the experience was so great that I couldn't care less. I ate mine so eagerly, I forgot to a get a picture!
