I ordered the boathouse pasta. I'll have to say the main course was delicious at least for me. The only complaint I had with the main dish was the small bread stick it came with. The flavor was great and angel hair pasta was perfect. I also had gotten an appetizer. I tried the spinach artichoke dip with tortilla chips. I was not impressed. I couldn't tell if it was home made or just purchased from the freezer section of the local Walmart I had no artichoke hearts in any of it at all so it was flavored slightly like artichoke and had some spinach. My Boyfriend ordered the prime rib steak. With onions and mushrooms and mashed potatoes for the side veggie and the ruben soup which happened to be the best part of his meal. The prime rib was mostly fat and the sauteed onions and mushrooms were not the tastiest. The onions were sliced as of they were going into an Asian dish so super stringy and undercooked the mushrooms were small and looked as if they came from a can. 2 thumbs down on the flavor of the main dish and 2 thumbs down on the extra onion and mushroom toppings. They had said that the potatoes were made with butter but when butter is melted it does not look like oil especially atop mashed potatoes. I am taking a guess but with the flavor of the" butter" I would guess it was either margarine or something similar. Disappointed in the experience and for our first time there and paying nearly 100$ on a meal that was so so. Was a bit disappointing. The waitress we had was very attentive almost to the point of being a little much. But very kind and had great things to say about the cook. Which is probably why I was kind of disappointed in the build up of the food we were served. I was never asked if I needed a refill just asked how it tasted. And for a server to be at the table as long as she was I felt like she was part of our date by the end. It happened to be the place I chose to go to for my birthday. But kinda wish I would have gone someplace else. Or at least not have had to pay as much for a meal that...
Read moreThe Boat House is one of my favorite places to go for a good burger, their Big Piggy and Cowboy burgers are excellent! The problems I have experienced here, and the reasons why I am not giving them a 5 star review, are that I have been given different answers about whether or not kids can eat free on Thursday if the order is for delivery or pick-up. I have had a couple waitresses tell me "yes," kids can still eat free, but then on subsequent orders I have been told "no" by other waitresses. Another issue is with the level of background noise when I call to place my order. The waitress is frequently difficult to hear because of it. One more complaint is that the delivery driver will stop in the middle of the street, put his vehicle in park, and get out to make his delivery. I have been driving down a street when he has done it (short, middle-aged man with grey hair). It is not a safe or respectful practice.
I am fine with getting a burger from here once in a while, but these other issues do make it less pleasing of an experience. Therefore, I don't do it as often as I used to. Still, great burgers!

It doesn't matter how long you have been parking in the middle of the street. The fact remains that it is an unsafe, unwise, and rude thing to do.
It also doesn't matter that it is more noisy around the phone during peak business times. What does matter is that the noise level makes it difficult to hear the waitress and be heard by...
Read moreToday, I went to have lunch with my husband at the boathouse; we both decided soup and salad bar. The soups were not warm. We also asked the waitress for bread sticks that we never received; but the worst part was the dishes were dirty, not one or two, but several I showed this to the waitress who had little concern. Which is why I asked the manager, and when he finally showed up, he just kept saying how they have been in business for a really long time. I explained that I was not concerned about how long he has been in business. I don't want hepatitis. I also explained how his waitress gave the two dirty dishes two to other women sitting at another table. All he said was ya , I talked to my waitress about that; the manager didn't pull the plates from the other women. Hope no one gets sick... The manager said our meal was paid, but it was still not the point . We left the full amount on the table for our lunch. Won't be back, neither will any of my family members because of a lack of concern for...
