Angry Dad Draught House is a very good restaurant with a great variety of menu choices that go above and beyond the usual bar food selections of a place that looks like this. We picked out this place to eat one final meal together before dropping the kids off at summer camp not too far away. We reviewed the menu online ahead of time and I asked for the Fresh Strawberry Garden Salad. Unfortunately, that online menu was out of date and they no longer offered it. No big deal. I picked the Southwest Salad as a backup, with some modifications. Instead of the chicken, I asked for salmon. No problem at all. The salad was wonderful, fresh greens, a perfectly ripe avocado, salmon that was cooked really well, and a tasty chipotle ranch dressing served on the side. It was a very good salad and was surprisingly fresh and tasty for a bar-type restaurant as this. Basically, if you're coming to Angry Dad Draught House and looking for a healthier option, you'll do just fine. The 13 year old we we were with ordered the Caesar salad and it was good, although it was tossed in an abundance of dressing. The 7 year old we were with ordered the grilled cheese and they ate about a quarter of the sandwich. It seemed grilled to golden brown perfection and the cheese looked gooey too. Both kids really enjoyed the pickles that came as a side to a few dishes at the table, even ordering extras. We also had a senior citizen with us who had intended to order a salad, but couldn't resist the burger choices. She ate her entire burger, which was an impressive feat, and didn't have any leftovers. The folks at our table who got the fries enjoyed them. Our waitress was attentive and very accommodating to our requests. For example, our burger loving senior with us cannot have cheese and the waitress was sure to note that. She was also very quick to bring us extra pickles when the kids requested them. However, there was a decent amount of time between getting our menus, getting our drinks, and then being asked what we wanted to eat. The ordering timeline could have been more efficient for sure. As for the atmosphere, it's a big space with lots of room between tables. There were plenty of TV's on for entertainment. And the main seating area was far enough away from the bar itself that we didn't feel intimidated or concerned for the kids. We sat right next to a large room, which we assume can be used as a banquet hall for events. We didn't need it, obviously, but it was great to sit next to as we didn't feel cramped by walls. The major downside to the atmosphere were the flies. As soon as the food came out, our table was visited by 3 or 4 flies that just simply didn't go away. It was quite irritating and unsanitary. It almost ruined the mood as we were constantly swatting the flies away. The flies concern us from a sanitary perspective, and maybe with better cleaning processes in place, they wouldn't appear. Overall, Angry Dad Draught House is a great restaurant for whatever group you are dining with. It's a bar, so it's great for adults. It's a restaurant with plenty of space, so it's good for families and kids. The food is fresh and tasty and surprisingly diverse for a place that looks like a typical bar/restaurant. I recommend checking them out!

Food smelled amazing as it was delivered to another table which prompted my ordering of the same dish (Steak platter) and my awesome dinner companion ordered the chicken quesadilla. My steak platter was lacking in flavor and the steak was a horrible cut. Very very chewy and rubbery. When I was asked how everything was I explained it to the woman who asked and she apologized but did nothing to offer to correct or replace it. Each person who asked me how my meal was got the same rendition, including the manager, no one offered to replace the meal even early on. The quesadilla was excellent and I wish I would have had that. Visited before the new owners and experience was 1 to 2 stars at best. This new ownership did awesome with the revamp. Just need a better cut of meat and might want to consider making it right for the customers who might not be happy. Service was overall really good. Moderately priced and a awesome atmosphere.. I’ll give ‘em another shot. 6/20 (update): Service started out slow and I had to ask a few times for sweetener for our drinks. Ended out great. Had the Droughthouse Burger… (Holycrap, awesome) finally found a local place that serves an awesome burger. She had a Plain Jane. (She enjoyed it as well. I will enjoy the other half tomorrow for lunch). If only they could get more help to round out their new place… Very very impressive… Not much for making things right though when they fall short. Can’t have it all I guess. Food so far outweighs the lacking of staff. More to come…

Honest review from long time customer: Came tonight for their new and improved happy hour menu and will say the drink prices on HH can’t be beat and I likely will be coming for just that for the remainder of the summer. I have been enjoying this bar since I turned 21 nearly 10 years ago. It has long been the communal watering hole but has avoided the “townie” feel, keeping things fresh with live music, fun games, new additions to the back yard and ever changing setups inside. I would have given them a 5 star review up until recently. They did a rebrand to incorporate a partnership with Angry Dad Brewing and made some changes (including price increases) and it just seems like the new brand has made Draught House lose a bit of the charm that everyone loved so much for so many years. It’s hard to truly identify what specifically has led to the vibe shift, but it is obvious by the personnel and lack of enthusiasm from the employees that the new culture and management style is a little disappointing. Nevertheless, I will come here and enjoy it until they give me a real reason not to. Just a shame that it went from a crowd favorite to an average-at-best bar almost overnight.

I have been here successfully once and unsuccessfully one other time.

Let me explain

The first time I came here it was about 7pm. The service was fabulous, the food was good, and I was able to sample a beer I never had had before, before ordering it. Great experience.

The second time I was attempting to have dinner with my family. My parents and I arrived in one car at about 815 but my partner and daughter got caught in traffic and did not arrive until 909pm. When we attempted to enter the building, two men with no identification as to being staff members and we're standing off to the side of the porch rather than at the door, asked us where we were going and if we had IDS. I said we were just going for dinner and continueed to walk toward the door. I honestly thought they were just friendly slightly drunk guys who wanted to make sure we could order a good beer, especially since the once talking was drinking a beer in a plastic cup. The gentleman then continued to ask for IDs and explain after 9pm it was over 21 only. I said I didn't have an ID on me as I didn't drive and wasn't interested in drinking. The gentleman seemed to be taken aback and perhaps confused by this as he said this is a bar environment you always need to have an ID and then proceeded to ask for my ID again. I reiterated I didn't have one, we had just been trying to go to dinner, didn't know it was adults only after 9, and as my daughter was with us we couldn't go in as she was only 14. The gentleman, who was polite through the entire encounter, then said we could stay and have dinner but needed to be out by 10pm because other people had ruined it for everyone and they (meaning the police I think) we're really strict around here. The gentleman then proceeded to, once again, ask us all for IDs. I'd like to point out our party of 5 consisted of my 75 year old father, 70 year old mother, my 44 year old partner, and my 38 year old self in addition to my 14 year old daughter. NO ONE looks like they are close to 21 on either side of the timeline. My partner and I discussed it and choose to leave regardless of the offer of being able to stay till 10.

The entire encounter was a bit odd but friendly/polite. I do genuinely believe the guy had our best interests at heart and genuinely thought I was under 21 as I was the only one he questioned about an ID several times.

I do not recall seeing any notice about the age/hour restrictions posted outside or inside the building but I honestly wasn't really looking for such notices on our first visit nor did I get right at the door during this visit.

We will abide by the ID and time/age restriction policies on our next visit, as we did have fun the first time and would like to come back.

The only thing which truly bothered me about our second visit was the gentleman not wearing identifying shirts of some kind. Other than that everyone was polite, considerate, and just...

A huge disappointment! Stopped to eat there on Friday 7/26/19. I attempted to sit outside in the supposed Tiki bar. I sat at a table for no more than 2 minutes only to be hit smack in the face by a woman’s cigarette smoke, while at the same time watching a 5-year old play in the sand not 10 ft. away from her! What the hell!!?? I was under the impression that smoking anything including those ridiculous vaping cancer stick cigarettes was against the law in public. Am I wrong? I then had to ask the bartender to get me a waiter/waitress because no one waited on me. Someone finally came over so I asked for the Manager. The waiter never followed through so I asked a passing waitress to get me the Manager. When he finally came over, I complained about the smoke only for it to fall on deaf ears. I was then forced to sit inside on a beautiful night due to the stench of cancer sticks around me. I sat at a table to wait, yet again, for a waiter/waitress to attend to me. Literally, ten minutes later...NO WAITER OR WAITRESS! I asked the bartender for a drink. She was kind enough to come around from the bar and serve me my drink. The waiter finally showed up only to apologize for not bringing me my drink. I was then told I couldn’t order from the outside menu, inside. What the hell!!?? The only reason I was inside was because I didn’t want to be forced to smoke!! That’s essentially what was happening. I was smoking without even touching a cigarette! I ordered what was to be coconut shrimp, popcorn shrimp, etc. I should have taken a photo of it with my phone and put it on Facebook. Another huge disappointment. They should be ashamed of themselves for serving what they considered edible food. The Manager could care less about my dissatisfaction with the restaurant; he had no concept of “good customer service” whatsoever and shouldn’t be in the service industry at all. He could’ve at least apologized for my inconvenience and offered to buy me a drink, but instead he ignored me the entire time I was there, walking by me on several occasions. If I could give the establishment a minus rating, it would be a -10 stars. I will make a point of speaking to the township of Washington Code Enforcement Dept to complain about the cigarette, vaping and cigar smoking that is going on at the restaurant. Truly a waste of my time and hard-earned money. The only decent people there were the inside bartender and James the Security guy. He was kind and understanding....
