We were craving pizza and we stopped this evening and it was absolutely disappointing. 😞 We order a large pizza. Half was a meat lovers pizza and half was Hawaiian. My husband had the brilliant idea of Ordering the square one and that was a huge mistake. The pizza was all burned 🔥 . I can't even believe they have the nerve to serve it like that. When our friend pointed out to the lady who owns the place she just said that the square pizzas always burn. Wow, are you serious! If you don't have the proper oven that heats evenly to allow your pizza to cook perfectly why even offer that shape. Poor service if you are not sitting on the bar. I ate the less burnt piece of our pizza and our friends gave me a piece of their pizza because they felt bad. I'd been to this place before and is a hit or miss. My wife and I stopped in earlier today for lunch. The pizza was fantastic. The owner was extremely welcoming and friendly, even despite my wife wearing an Ohio State hoodie into a Michigan stronghold. When we were leaving, there was a sign that said “come here as guests, leave as friends” that could not be more true as we felt like we made a friend in the owner and felt more connected to the town and surrounding areas. This place was recommended by family while we were here in town for the week staying in Lexington. We visited with a neighbor who regularly frequents the establishment and knows everyone by name. It was like being in the old TV show Cheers where everyone knows your name. Great service and even better food. The pizza dough and crust is delicious.
