Edit since our first visit: We've been back since and we had really hoped things would improve since our last visit. We contributed the flaws to being new and sorting through growing pains. However, the service is still incredibly slow. Our order came out wrong or missing items. The chili was bland and had no flavor. What happened to the old recipe? The fries were greasy and soggy, and the shredded chicken was nothing to write home about. As mentioned previously by other patrons, the prices need to come down a notch based off the quality of food coming out of the kitchen. Hopefully they'll take the feedback and put it to good use. First Visit: Great little spot to grab a bite to eat. We tried the chili cheese dog, shredded chicken, and fries. All good. Looking forward to making this a frequent stop on our trips to the lake.

My dad and I got our dinner from the root beer stand this evening. I had the sloppy Joe, the Mac and cheese, and the pretzels with beer cheese. My dad got the chili cheese dogs with onions. We split the pretzels and beer cheese and Mac and cheese it was more than enough for the 2 of us. His only complaint was that he felt like I wasted my money on the 2nd hot dog as the 1st one filled him up. The sloppy Joe tastes about as homemade as you can get it is so good and the sandwich was so big. The pretzels were just lightly crisp on the outside soft warm and delicious on the inside. The warm beer cheese was the absolute perfect compliment to the pretzels. It was awesome and I think this will be our new weekly stop.

If you are looking for some good old times vibes and good food, and root beer, this is the place for you. On our first visit, we order a platter which included a side and small drink. We had the foot long with some fries and onion rings. There are at least three root beers, Mug, IBC, and Barq's from which to choose. The fries were a tad salty and limp, but serviceable I wish they had a crispy crinkle cut. That would fit the vibe better. The onion rings were top notch, nice solid onion inside, wonderfully battered and crispy on the outside. The footlong hotdog was great. I asked for spicy mustard, but just got a side of yellow. I look forward to returning and trying their burgers.

Thankfully I did'nt have any children with me! The footlong chili dogs we ordered were just alright except the dog was way to fat! The chili was mediocre at best, or maybe it was the fact that the dog was so big it's all I could taste. A decent amount of shredded cheese, and I didn't taste a single onion! Considering I paid an extra $2.50 per dog for those toppings, I was incredibly disappointed. Those dogs were not worth the $9 bucks for what we spent per dog and we got 4! Our bill was ridiculous at $44+ dollars. We ordered 2 root beer floats which a root beer stand should take pride in, but for $4.50 each for a small, the float was very skimpy on ice cream and not big enough to be worth the price! Had we been able to see a price list, we probably never would have ordered all that we ordered! Instead you have to scan some thing in the window to see a price menu. That's annoying! You know, not everyone in the world has a phone capable of scanning a QR code, let alone even have a cell phone. Best of luck to you during season, you have managed to pillage people who are on vacation. Hope to see you next year with pricing that matches major amusement park prices, and nothing to captivate...

Me and a group of friends went up there to eat again we loved the food and it took forever to get our food it was 50$ worth of food and we didn’t even have the much stuff and they were not even that busy they forgot our root beer float and I went up there and told the lady at the window that it was forgotten about and I was upset bc I spent over 50$ and it took over 40 mins to get our food and we had to wait again while our food got cold the lady then said to me “then don’t come back ever” I have never in my life ever experience anything like that I used to work there back in 2015 and it WAS NEVER LIKE THIS why would u tell your customers to never come back that was just so rude all she should have said is I’m so sorry let me get that for you I would NEVER LET ANYONE ON MY TEAM SAY ANYTHING LIKE THAT TO A CUSTOMER I’m extremely disappointed in this place!!!! We have eaten here twice, the first time I got the Shell Yeah burger and fries. It was about $14 (I don’t remember exactly). The burger was fine, wasn’t a $9+ burger though. The fries were great though. We had ice cream of some kind that day, I don’t remember what we got. My second visit was for desert, our group tried lots of different things, shake was good, hard dip ice cream was good, soft serve float missed the mark. It wasn’t bad, but when I get a root beer float from a place called the root beer stand, I expect it to knock my socks off. It felt like the soft serve just wasn’t cold enough or something. Maybe next time I’ll try hard dip and make sure I have time to eat it there in a frosted mug?

Bottom line, I’ll be back for ice cream and floats, not sure about the regular food (I am a sucker for a good hot dog though so I probably need to try their 1/2...
