American Table Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Washington

This place actually does have unbelievably low prices. Food is plentiful and delicious. American table does not nickel-and-dime you to death with extra charges.

UPDATE: the last two times we have been to the Washington American table the service was so bad. Last night we had a group of three. Ordered a appetizer asked for ranch dressing with it. It did not come.. we reminded her when she brought it..she said I'll be right back.. most of the appetizer was gone and I finally walked up and asked another person for some ranch dressing.

One person ordered a chef salad that came with soup she didn't get it and again we had to go up to the register and ask for it. Second person ordered coleslaw with her sandwich combo.. again she didn't get it. Waitress said I'll be right back with it took several minutes. We could tell she was getting a bit upset with us... Like we were running her to death when in fact she was not bringing the things that we had ordered and should have come with the food delivery.

No drink refills offered.. Had to ask somebody else for boxes for to go. Waitress showed up at table with Bill noticed that I had placed a monkey dish in the box. I had sat it there temporarily because our table had not been cleared at all and we had no room so I just set it in there until I could dump it into the smaller souffle cups that we had left over. she looked at that turned around and left really quickly and she came back fast this time simply because she thought we were stealing that monkey dish. She brought me a container to put that dressing in.. which I did not need. Apparently she can come back within a reasonable amount of time if she wants to!!

The last two visits at American table Washington the service has been so bad that even my granddaughter said no tip and that child has been known to tip 50 percent.

Manager didn't seem that concerned about the waitresses lack of abilities to do her job. I think she had told manager that we we're trying to steal that monkey dish and were running her to death. When in fact everything that we asked for was things that should have been brought to the table when the food was brought. Items that we had or I don't . Not items we added after she got there with the food. Sadly American table will no longer be or go to place...

We critiqued the food and service, and then the owner tried to Fight My Friend. I'd like to add here that my review has been quoted but they quoted it in their benefit. This place sucks. *after all this, a waitress informed me, that the Slaw was Bad, that it had been left out and was very old and they got it out of a tubrawear with a ice cream scope to serve. My experience with this place has SUCKED. I've been there 3 times, and the first two times i couldn't even eat my food, and one plate was just french toast!! This third time, My meal was good, I ordered chicken strips and french fries. My friend ordered cole slaw. He told me it wasn't good so I tasted it, and it was BAD!! We also noticed that Management was being very condescending the waitresses. AT the end of our meal we let Management know, of our experience, how the food was terrible, and the slaw even seemed.... Rotten!! She quickly got an attitude informing us that since we had eaten most of our food, there shouldn't be a problem. We let her know, this was not the case, and left. Shortly after leaving I received a text message from some one i know who works there telling me, the owner was here, and that we needed to return to speak with him. Once we arrived it was clear, he wanted a fight, THE OWNER OF THE BUSINESS!!! He immediately bumped chests with my friend, while said friend, calmly tried to talk to him. Once things were obviously not going to go well, we moved out side. The owner of the business took to cheap threats and the swelling of his chest to try to intimidate us, but it wasn't working. Eventually, the management we had spoke to who turned out to be the owners wife came out on the phone ready to call the police. Her Husband/Owner of the bussiness. The police came and we were kicked off the property never to return. All this because we complained about service. The wife had apparently told the man that my friend was being disrespectful to her, by "getting in her face" He was angry to hear this so he proceeded to tell every one there, that he was going to kick my friends ass, and that he needed to come back, and calling him names, and all of this. Very Proffessional. Once thepolice showed up the owner changed tune, and basically just wanted...

Upon walking in as opposed to receiving a greeting, I was met with “Are you picking up a door dash order?” I replied “No Ma’am”. She asked “Do you have a call in?” I said no. She then replied “Well what is it then?” To which I finally asked, “I would love to place an order please if that’s okay?” Then she promptly walked into the kitchen. I then turned to the polite cashier and asked, “Is it not okay to place an order?”

I was highly offended for multiple reasons! I visit Washington IN at least once a week as a truck driver visiting the local Perdue here. Typically I’m forced to sit in my truck and place a door dash order. As I’m aware that Door Dash cuts into the profits of local businesses, I was very happy to park my semi and trailer in the plaza parking lot next to the establishment, to personally visit the place I’d begun to love so very much. This was a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT and I absolutely felt unwelcome!

The food is good. So if I must have more, I’ll definitely only order DoorDash going forward. Curtis was absolutely pleasant in assisting me with taking my order!
