As a 28 yr vet, DO NOT EAT HERE!! I served, was wounded twice, 1/2 Asian, & this establishment is factually as racist as they come! Funny part, I consider myself more conservative who votes for the best person - left or right! The second we walked in, the owner/manager (older slim, short lady - who was definitely in charge), rolled her eyes at me with a disapproval message; wasn’t 100% sure if it was towards me but it didn’t take long to realize it was! A white couple came in after us & she cheerfully greeted them. Then another & another! So my assumption was correct but a server had already taken our order. When she took our order, she wasn’t the nicest but when she brought our food, she had the worst attitude ever! Apparently, the word got out a minority dude was here!! We were about to walk out but the place was recommended by someone we know who used to come yrs ago. I got the hamburger deluxe & it was the greasiest burger ever! Taste was ok; their special sauce is 1000 Island! Wife got the delux hotdog & it was burnt. She took one bite! While eating, the owner/manager & three other workers/ladies were sitting at the far end of the bar watching tv but I could clearly hear them talking while watching “Family Fued!” Both contestants & tv host, Steve Harvey, are African American. The owner/manager started talking about all the “jungle bunnies” and African Americans in particular. She also talked about the upcoming elections & how “they have to help stop” something (could not clearly hear the rest). The place may look “cool” with all the $ bills but read what some say on them closely! It’s clearly a racist place where their customers vent to express how they hate so many Americans! They use a cover of “supporting” vets & even make a big deal out of it as the original owner was a Marine, but it apparently applies to only “white” vets! As a vet, don’t come here if you want alt right garbage all over while eating. You’ll see as you pull up also as they have political rhetoric in their window clearly visible. All places have that right but to extend the hate to customers, especially vets, makes this a “NO-GO” place regardless of what they’ve done in the past w vets because supporting vets is a cover!!! The establishment prefers “whites” only and if you’re a vet, you’re supporting a business tied to anti-American values. These are the same people that complain about “woke” NFL helmet messages and say “stick with football” and yet post political garbage all over! I say, STICK WITH FOOD! I refused to leave a tip for the mediocre food and I got the stair down - I just said “no tip”! She just “puffed!” Before we pulled out of the parking lot, I let my dog out to pee (don’t even start about leaving the dog in the car - it was 45 degrees and he happily slept). One of the waitresses was out smoking and you could see the shock on her face as she looked at my Purple Heart plates! She looked me straight in the eyes and “attempted” to apologize for the service! So, it was intentional BAD SERVICE because I look somewhat minority!!!!!! Won’t even go into what I told her as she looked ashamed! So, IF YOU EAT HERE and knowingly know they are racist from a fellow vet, all I can say is you’re a traitor to your oath! I have never put this much effort into a review - JUST LOOK AT MANY WHO HAVE BEEN TREATED POORLY HERE - all fellow decent Americans who are minority! The ones who skip the review and post positive reviews, “if only you knew” or you just don’t care how minority and especially minority vets are treated! You eat here and know this, you’re basically a supporting racist also! My job now is to spread the word! Hey, freedom of speech right!?!?! Of course they’ll deny it! That’s todays RINO MAGAs! They’ll say “we have that one Mexican family that comes in” just watch! They will lie, deflect, or support immoral or illegal activities! DO NOT SUPPORT THIS...
Read moreSaddened and shocked by our experience. They should be ashamed of themselves for how they acted. I went here years ago when my children were younger. They very much enjoyed the food and atmosphere, as well as decorating dollar bills to hang on the wall to donate. My children are now about grown and we decided to take a road trip and actually planned Fat Smitty's as part of our destination! I even made sure to bring along extra dollars to draw on and decorate. Everyone was very excited. My oldest child was especially looking forward to going back to that childhood memory and was very excited for a burger from there just like years before. My son has a picture of us at Fat Smittys from when he was 4, hanging up on his wall. That is the type of impression we had from there... it was a happy memory. Well what a dissapointment our trip back there turned out to be! We walked in and were "greeted" by a grouchy lady that gave the impression she was annoyed we even walked in. I never thought a business would be annoyed to have paying customers lol. Another worker on the phone was talking equally as rude. Everything felt a little off. I tried to ignore it and smiled a little extra, was polite, and tried to be positive and "turn her frown upside down". Well that didn't work 😆. She wasn't happy to have to answer what the "sauce" was on the burger. If you don't want to answer that question all day how about you describe what the sauce is on the menu instead of just listing "sauce". She was just so rude over all. Grouchy as can be, not a polite tone or even half a smile from her. Everytime she spoke it was with impatience and annoyance. I have never felt so unwelcomed before! It was the oddest thing ever! When we had first arrived my son's girlfriend went to use the restroom. She joined us where we were sitting and the lady/waitress said "what do you want"- in a rude tone mind you. My son's girlfriend, having just sat down and not having a chance to look at the menu yet said she needed a moment. The waitress actually ROLLED HER EYES and walked away! That was it! We were over the rudeness and we promptly walked out! I left some money on the table to cover the drinks we purchased- which I actually regret because we didn't even stay long enough to drink them 😄. Any way, this was the most dissapointing, and shocking experience. I am flabbergasted at the unprovoked rudeness. Fat Smitty's will now no longer be remembered as a happy family memory, it is now remembered as a place of unwelcoming rudeness. I am so dissapointed in what I thought to be a positive establishment. Shame on you Fat Smitty's. I'll pray extra for you, you...
Read moreI ordered the fat Smitty's burger with french fries and a chocolate shake, after a 20 minute wait I finally got the burger but they forgot the shake which took an additional 10 minute wait. The servers were outright rude and seemed very disgruntled and unhappy. I don't know if that's the theme of this place or whatever, but it was really off-putting the way the girl seemed annoyed with me ordering food. That was the worst part about the experience. The Burger came out, it was big, sure, too big. Too tall. I get it, it's a big burger and that's what they made, but pretty impractical, there's no way a human could wrap their face around that burger without dislocating their jaw, so I had to resort to picking it apart and eating the top half, followed by the bottom half. The top half had all the lettuce, the bottom half had the tomatoes and onions, which made for poor distribution of toppings as far as I'm concerned while eating a burger. Figure burgers should be wider not taller in my opinion. At the end of it I had a massive pile of burger scrappings all over the tin foil that it was served in. I will give credit to the cook, they did their job and the burger was presented as nice as could be, and the hand cut fries were pretty good. But between the service and the weight and the big pile of mess I had at the end of the meal, I was disappointed and I probably won't go back. Now I can say I had a fat Smitty's burger and mark that...
