Fireside Cafe — Restaurant in Washington

Summary for the TLDR types: The people running this place make it what it is: special!! And the food is top quality.

My detailed review and experience: I went there on a cloudy muggy Saturday morning in May 2020. It’s a shame we could not dine in at this wonderful place because of the covid 19 restrictions. Debbi was running the kitchen when we got there and we went over the menu on the door and she made a recommendation I do not regret taking up. It was the blue cheese burger- and it is delicious :) I barely finished eating the burger and could not wait to write this review. It is a cute, cozy little place in a campground just outside the town. Debbi is a warm and really friendly host. I’m from New York and I have to go back before the restaurants re open but I will be back here soon to dine in and talk to the wonderful people here, especially Debbi !! :)

Super sad to say it this place brings back so many memories the new owners are not quite on par yet they need to get up to date otherwise they're just going to ruin the nostalgic feeling that everybody has with this old Cafe that's been in kalama forever their prices are like super high I mean we're talking it was $17 for biscuits and gravy should not be that expensive but the service was excellent the waitress was wonderful and it was nice and clean but they just don't have the Homestyle Cooking like they used to have with the old owners and this place really gets close to home and I hope that they see my rating and realize that they need to have the Grandma's back in their cooking with those old recipes that used to have seriously and you'll have all my family and me back I'm going to give it another try here next week and I hope like hell they learn from my message and I know I'm not the only one that...

A couple yrs. ago in oct. my husband asked what I wanted to do, we left Friday night and drove to Astoria and back, we came back Portland way and stopped at the rv park to eat, we found it so cute, comfortable and the food great, all my husband has talked about it going back there someday and fish after he saw the photo's of past fish caught, all I've talked about is eating there again and sitting on the benches by the pond and read while he fishes. We couldn't remember the name of the place or where it was. I was going through some posted face book pics and low and behold we took a pic of the restaurant while there, I googled it and it is 6hrs. from our home in Idaho.
