Small town restaurant vibes. I loved every part of our experience. My husband was craving breakfast, my oldest son Alfredo, my youngest shrimp, and then me up for whatever. 🤣 All of their cravings were met & satisfied! Each meal was delicious. We got (and recommend) the chicken fettuccine, southwest wrap, prawns & chips, & the omelets with biscuits & gravy. Yum on so many levels. The soup of the day (Rice & Chicken) was so flavorful. The potato salad was fantastic & not tart like a lot of places make it. Not a single complaint from this family. The waitress, Michelle, was wonderful & accommodating. She was so patient as we were teaching my 11 year old to speak for himself & order like a young man. They offered dessert, which looked amazing. However, we were too full! The dessert case was full of homemade pies that were so tempting! Seating was great & spacious. Not crowded, even though almost all tables were full, & not loud.

Update: The cinnamon rolls, hash, bennedict, bloody marys, and scramble were all great as always. The service was realtively poor this time and they were not that busy. Our order took exceptionally long and may have been forgotten, waters were empty, no one gave us jam for our toast, and the older woman was incredibly unwelcoming. With everything so expensive right now, I'd rather avoid being ignored at such a high cost and be expected to give a tip. Krain Corner is an authentic, historical, country breakfast experience! The place feels like you are walking into grandma's for some eggs and love. The fresh jam, especially the strawberry was seriously the best I've ever had. Krain gets busy, but I was impressed how well they handled such big crowds. I recommend Krain to anyone who enjoys a real experience and not some pushy chain with flavorless everything.

We went for breakfast at Krain’s on a Sunday morning. It was packed but a short while later we were able to get seated. They have a pretty massive menu with a wide variety of breakfast fare to choose from. I love eggs Benedict so I definitely had to get that, we also got orders of steak and eggs and their French toast breakfast combo. Due to it being a Sunday and a full house, we did have a longer wait time than usual for our food to come out. But we were able to enjoy the drinks and take in a little Krain’s history in the meanwhile. Everything came out piping hot and we wasted no time in eating 🙂‍↔️. Their hollandaise sauce was something else, I did not waste a drop of it. Overall a very nice breakfast spot!

We wanted to love this place, but it just consistently misses the mark. We've been here 10 or so times and every time the service is just not great, crazy inefficient, and just sort of cold.

Firstly, the waitresses always seem confused about their sections, or rather tables since they don't split up the tables into logical sections. Having been a waitress, bartender, and an expo/runner a couple times in my life (in both small town settings as well as bigger city bars), I've just never seen a less efficient way to split up sections and jobs than Krain Corner.

Next, every time, I've watched the waitresses take one table's order, walk it to the kitchen, come back to their section, take another order (even though that table was absolutely ready when the table right next to them was having their order taken), walk it to the kitchen, etc, ad nauseam. Again, crazy inefficient. I actually would have likely been mildly reprimanded if I'd done that at my old service industry jobs, instead of taking multiple orders in my section before walking the orders to the kitchen. We had our menus in a stack on the edge of the table for about 3-4 trips of the waitresses walking back and forth before she took our order.

As for the comment of the service being "cold", I just want to say no one has been explicitly rude to us. Nothing particularly agregious has happened to us when we're in. But we are just sort of treated like a slight inconvenience with that fake customer service attitude (which I can empathize with). Comparatively, it didn't take the gals at Charlie's more than 3 or 4 visits before they greeted us with more of a smile of recognition, of sorts. It's not like we expect fanfare or anything, but definitely would think the servers here would recognize us by now and just have that sort of warmth people have when they recognize customers that come in often.

So, pair the aforementioned points with the fact that I've not gotten a true "eggs over medium" a single time we've been there, and a hair or two in the food, it's just not going to be a favorite spot of ours. The only perk over other diners near us would be the homemade jam/jelly, which is admittedly pretty awesome. Will we come back? Of course, when we get tired of the other breakfast places near us, I'm sure we'll mix this place into the rotation. But I wanted to post this review in hopes that the service improves and becomes more efficient. Roles could definitely use some redefining between the waitresses and...

I give Krain Corner 2 stars because the food that I ordered was good but the service was really bad! It was my 1st time there and I had been invited by my cousins and their friend (who is a regular) to come and eat there. I was the only woman of color who was in this restaurant. We ordered and ate then I had a question, for the waitress. The waitress there had an attitude when I politely asked her a question. So I felt the need to return the favor. It went back and forth for a while. I did ask my cousins and their friend have they had service like this before and they told me no absolutely not! That this is the 1st time and that the wait staff is normally very polite. So I told them maybe I shouldn't have came because of my race and their friend felt the need to apologize for the bad service that I had received. I told her no it's not your fault that they decided to treat a paying customer like this! I did end up telling the waitress how I felt. I told her that if her response would have been more polite that I wouldn't have given her an attitude back! She admitted to having an attitude with her response while still having an annoyed attitude, even though I was trying to make peace. I have a lot of friends and family that I was going to bring to this restaurant because of the food, but how they treated me was not right! They will not be having a repeat customer from me or my friends family that I was going to introduce here. This restaurant advertises everyone is welcome on the outside of the restaurant, well I can...

So not sorry, Krains! If there was a ZERO, I'd score that way. Your place was NOISY! It a dirty appearance, not charming at all. It was COLD, uncontrolled temperature, bad draft from doors. Disorganized seating arrangements. Ordered AYCE fish and chips, very little fish, and had mostly hard over-fried crust which was unbearably greasy and uneatable. French fries were dark, greasy and overcooked. Tartar was tasty though. My dtr dinner, baked potato was overcooked, nearly black, dried out. Kids meals, no complaints, cheeseburger and corndogs. Waitress never returned to our table, ever. We had a girl that was refilling drinks, that was it. And she brought the birthday brownie for our 2 y/o. And next to us, arrived, an obvious employee who came in to eat, with 2 children; she ended up clearing away the dirty dishes and wiping down her own table. The worst spent $53 that I've spent on food. EVER. No one brought a bill, waitress never returned, when we went to leave, i had to search for someone for it. When i explained the circumstances, HE acted like it was no big deal, " Did i want more fish?" Hmm, " NOT NOW! " Maybe if the waitress had ever returned. Very disappointed. Not supporting this local restaurant again, thus the rating. A total waste of my hard earned money, and too bad they dont have the same work ethics and are being held accountable. Shame on...
