JJ Mahoney's Irish Pub offers a cozy and welcoming atmosphere for a casual night out. We stopped in for some small bites and a couple of rounds of beer, and the experience was enjoyable overall.
The pub boasts a nice selection of beers on tap, perfect for quenching your thirst. We sampled a few different brews, which complemented our food choices well. For our small bites, we opted for the fried mac and cheese and jalapeño poppers, both of which were delicious and received a 10/10 rating. These appetizers were crispy, flavorful, and satisfying. We also ordered salads to balance out our meal. While the menu focuses more on traditional Irish fare and pub classics, the salads were fresh and tasty. The portion sizes were generous, ensuring we got good value for our money.
The service was attentive and friendly, with our waitress being sweet and responsive to our needs. The pub's atmosphere is lively without being overwhelming, making it suitable for various occasions. With multiple TVs available, it's also a great spot to catch a game while enjoying your meal and drinks. Overall, JJ Mahoney's Irish Pub is a solid choice for those seeking a casual dining experience with good pub food, a variety of beers, and a welcoming...
Read moreGreat variety of on tap beers, hard ciders and mixed drinks all on tap...was impressed. Just don't plan on eating there. We ordered 5 different meals and every person commented that the food was not very good. I would go again for drinks and just eat elsewhere. Edit...came again for drinks 2 years later. Drinks are good with a good variety...but plan on drinking your Mules in a dirty germ infested copper cup. Sat at the bar and watched the bar chic take dirty used copper mule mugs from visitors leaving and run them under water in the sink in front of us then dry with a cloth...YUCK. There is a dishwasher...in the times of Covid and such why wouldn't you put the cups in the dishwasher?? She rinsed, dried with a cloth and put back on the shelf for the next person. Btw that drying cloth is going from drying dirty cups to drying cups coming from the...
Read moreThis place has a great place to bring family, including kids. I know most would come to try one of the 40 rotating beers on tap, but they also have very special food choices. Two of my favorites are the buffalo dip and green chili quesadillas (chili is real from New Mexico) that introduces the northwest to authentic southwest flavor. The buffalo dip comes with chips and is a full flavor experience. They also have a root beer soda that tastes much better than others, and root beer floats for those who want something sweeter. I hope they add more sodas in the future. The environment is clean and open and welcoming. Music is nice too, not too loud, but not too quiet. Also saw someone working on a laptop, so that's an option too. We came from California for a wedding in Hood River and this place was great to unwind...
