Nick's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Washington

OMG!!! It had been soooo long!!! Nick's (we always called it Nick's Tavern back in the day) was - for better or for worse - the focal point of my social/exterior life forty-something years ago before, during, and after all the things that surrounded the eruption of St. Helens. I had not been back in the bar since my wife (who I first met in Nick''s so many years ago) and I moved away in 1987.

I really need to give a 5-star shoutout to the Nick's staff for the May 18 Forest Service get-together. The work of the Nick's staff on Sunday, May 18. 2025, was Just Simply Amazing....

While I can't speak to the bar food quality between 1987( when I left the Amboy area) and now, nothing seems to have changed between the 80's (aka...back in the Good Ol' Days) and now. The burgers are excellent; my Chili Dog was delicious; the French fries for all the meals were exceptional; the Chili was Superb. Food was tasty, we had the breakfast on a Sunday morning. A little disturbing that we walked in, yes, without masks, we quickly put the, on, but we’re stopped and read the riot act for not wearing one to our table. So you’d think everyone else would be treated the same right? Nope. We watched four more groups come in, give hugs all around to the wait staff and without masks before being seated, never being asked to wear a mask between door and table. We sat far away from anyone, and watched. Too bad we we’re judged to be walking Petri dishes and everyone else passed the invisible inspection that was needed to walk in without any face coverings. It is about 40 minutes till the bar closes Nick's bar and grill and I pull up to the parking lot park my vehicle and I seen a crowd of Asian American people walking to the bar and I am not Asian I am a different skin color and the lady the main lady I don't know if she's the owner but she's always there she locks the door not letting me in I go try the door and the bar is still says open there's people playing there but she locks the door on me and I am a Ukrainian speaking person why I believe she made a hateful move very very racist move like if you read this read it and I am not just anybody who is going to just write this for no reason I am offended and I hope people read this and...
