I have had OSM's slices during the farmers market on Sundays, but today was the first time I stopped by when there wasn't the market, and it was just perfect.
I took my mom and my two little boys. We had the place to ourselves and I don't think we could have had a more awesome pizza dining experience.
First of all, their pizza is phenomenal. We got a 16" half pesto, half veggie (they only do slices for the market) and two kombuchas for about $40. It's a thicker thin crust. My son, who is not yet two, had never liked olives until he had them on an OSM pizza. The crust is just the right amount of chewy, not too crispy kind. The rest is juicy, but not too messy, with the right amount of melted cheese ooze. It's savory and salty and oh so delicious! If they're open, just stop reading and go get some!
The space was just delightful. I love the market, but being there without it, well I just hadn't considered how pleasant the space could be as a little pizza place. It's in a field with trees here and there, a garden space a buzz with honey bees with a perfect bench next to the pizza shop, and of course there's sand box full of toys is pure delight for my toddler.
The OSM folks were so kind and friendly (I judge people for how they treat children) and they are top notch, letting my toddler watch food prepping and our pizza go in the oven. They just have a positive vibe, which is just how it should be on a summer Saturday. They even gave us three of their almond cookies that had recently come out of the oven and they were heavenly with crispy edges and a center that melted in your mouth.
My mom just loved the experience and can't wait to go back. I don't know if we were just lucky having the place to ourselves, but this place felt like a South Whidbey secret eatery while we were there. Don't tell anyone about how great this place is! For real. It's so hard to have this kind of experience at most other places to eat on...
Read moreThe pizza was good. Better than most you can find in the area. But not 10$ a slice good. If it was like 3-5 dollars a slice this would be 5 stars all day but you can find better pizza and certainly not leave wanting to find something else to eat. I really wanted to love it and the service and atmosphere was nice but even in 2024 10 dollars for a slice of pizza is highway robbery.
Edit: the slices are indeed ~8 dollars but I'll always tip regardless of price which brings the...
