I'm a little surprised to see the overall rating average under a 4 at Red River, especially compared to a lot of the much less desirable restaurants in the area with higher ratings that are just terrible. I don't gamble but I do come here probably about once a month just to eat. The prime rib is delicious! It's not the most aged cut that you might get from a really fancy steakhouse, but trust me, it is still darn good, and definitely enough to keep me coming back on repeat (and I am admittedly a bit snobby about my steaks). Portions are excellent here. The burgers and breakfasty items are also really good, they just need to swap out whipped margarine to whipped butter, because margarine is gross. They do have little butter packets though, so be sure to ask if you hate margarine as much as I do. I also got a cold baked potato once so I now just get the mashed potatoes, which btw are excellent and always hot. The side veggies are delicious and well seasoned. Got a cheesecake to-go once from the Barista there too, surprisingly good, not too sweet and very creamy. Overall the food is definitely worth coming back for, good quality, large portions, and very fair prices. Honestly my only real gripe about the place is that customer service is sort of hit or miss, sometimes service is great but other times the staff looks either miserable or they're just completely aloof, (not rude or anything, but it can be a bit of a downer). I'll still be back for...

SINCE THEY CHANGED THE MENU AND LOCATION, THE FOOD IS TERRIBLE, THE SERVICE IS SUB PAR AT BEST. I DON'T MIND HIGHER PRICES AND UNDERSTAND WHY THEY NEED TO INCREASE, BUT I SURELY EXPECT THE SAME OR BETTER QUALITY OF FOOD. THE MENU SELECTION HAS DECREASED, AND WHATS THERE IS NOT A GOOD SELECTION. WE HAVE BEEN THERE 3 TIMES SINCE IT CHANGED AND BEEN EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED EACH TIME. THE ONLY SAVING GRACE IS THE CHOWDER IS STILL THE SAME, GRANTED THE PORTIONS ARE A LOT SMALLER. THIS IS A PLACE I WOULD ALWAYS RECOMMEND TO ALL MY FRIENDS, NOW I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND IT TO MY ENEMIES. YOU WANT A SUGGESTION PUT SOME REVIEW CARDS ON EACH TABLE OR WITH EACH CHECK SO YOU CAN GET AN ACCURATE IDEA OF HOW YOU ARE DOING. I THINK YOU MAY BE SURPRISED AT WHAT PEOPLE REALLY THINK. NO ONE I HAVE TALKED TO HAS BEEN PLEASED WITH ANY OF THE CHANGES THAT HAVE BEEN MADE. YOU SHOULD REALLY UNDERSTAND THE FOOD IS WHAT BRINGS PEOPLE TO A CASINO NOT JUST THE GAMING. THAT IS THE REASON WE HAVE NOT BEEN TO THE BOW HILL CASINO IN YEARS TERRIBLE FOOD SELECTION. WE WILL MAKE THE DRIVE TO SWINOMISH , OR ANGEL OF THE WINDS TO HAVE GOOD FOOD AND A GOOD TIME. THE SAD PART FOR YOU IS THAT I LIE 5 MINUTES FROM THE SILVER REEF. I WILL POST THIS ON AS MANY REVIEW BOARDS I CAN FIND, I HOPE THEY MAKE SOME SWIFT...

A couple months ago I used to recommend this place to people when they wanted a good meal for not too much money. Now? With the menus/location change do not waste your time. Absolutely terrible. My partner and I went there after the location moved and it was the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. We were sitting at our table for at least 15 minutes and were never greeted by our server. It was so terrible another service noticed and came over to apologize and take our drink order. About 5 minutes later “our server” comes over with our drinks, apologizes for the wait, and said his co-worker placed our food order for us. Food came out reasonably fast and “our server” didn’t even bring our food over it was the server who took our drink order, who wasn’t even our server. Ball dropped again. “Our server” never even came back to check on us despite walking past multiple times and we had to flag him down for the check. 0 stars is deserved. Not to mention the change to the steak is crazy. How do you go from getting a steak with 2 sides, mixed vegetables, Texas toast, and a soup or salad for $22 to a steak with just two sides for $29. Crazy to think just a couple months ago the service was amazing and food was...

I went for my birthday. Appetizer was great, steak skewers were cooked perfectly. I ordered the clam chowder with dinner and it was thick and delicious. Drinks were well made and very tasty. We discussed my allergies to onion with the server. I ordered the NY steak. Asked for it med rare just like the skewers. Unfortunately it came well done so I had to send it back, AND the vegetables came with lots of onions (uhh, we discussed my allergies, wth!) Our server offered a whole new plate for me. OK. Second steak comes out Blue rare! Server had to take it back for a THIRD TIME. when this one came out, the color was good but it was very tough like a very cheap steak. It was very un impressive. Our server mentioned that all the chefs were still fairly new but had been there at least 3 months. If you can’t cook a steak in a higher level restaurant like this, you should NOT be a cook at all. Sorry, but that’s MY opinion. Overall my experience this time was very disappointing. I don’t think I will ever want to come here for a birthday dinner again. There were some other things on the menu that I’d like to try so I guess I’ll come again, but I surely hope my next experience is much better because it couldn’t be much worse.

Updated: Silver free has official “redone” the Red River Cafe and not only changed the menu but significantly raised their prices. (Pic from their video of the announcement attached) What used to be an affordable and delicious night out is no longer. Unfortunately, we won’t go back. Red River Cafe is our go to night out place to eat! It’s typical diner food but considering the price, it’s damn good. You can’t beat $11.95 for a burger and fries! It’s typically under $40 for my significant other and I to go out and that’s with ordering a glass of wine. And you get a discount if you have a players card! The food is always great and pretty quick to come out. The service is always good too. It’s rare you can eat somewhere these days and feel like you actually got your money’s worth but this place is one of them. Only downside is, it’s in a casino so it can get kind of loud in there with all the bells and whistles going off but it’s not toooo bad.

Update: we both ordered the New York steaks. Mine was perfect well done. My friends was tough and we're sure after taste comparisons that it was a sirloin, not new york. In a hurry so didnt complain as we had no time to wait for a new steak. Hopefully growing pains, but a big disappointment. The birds liked it. The fries were soggy, like they were not freshly made, but sitting in the warmer a while. Not their usual excellent fries, for sure. The cafe is now located in the old buffet. There is a new menu which I posted. Prices are up. Substitutions are $4 extra. Sharing now costs an extra $5. I'll just get take out I guess, and eat in the lounge. Not impressed with the mango and hablenero shrimp. Too much hot sauce on everything, and not nice tasting. Mango was slimy. Only 5 shrimp. (They were tasty once you got some of the sauce off) Overall,a step backwards.
