I called to place an order to go and the lady on the phone acted as though I was annoying her. I then showed up to pick up my food and she told me the total, it seemed high and I noticed she was charging me more than listed online for their "To Go" menu, I advised her that the pricing was different. She replied " yeah I know, we don't have the access code to update it and here is our new pricing" she was handing me a paper menu. I continued to point out that I was ordering based off the online price and that it's not my fault they didn't update it. She proceeded to tell me she was not going to change the price. I was fine then I won't be buying the food. I asked for her manager, and she replied he was away and would tell me the same thing. I then asked for her name, and she said "Oh you don't need that, it won't help you", I demanded her name, and she finally told me her name was "Darnee", as I walked away I said "oh you might wanna work on your customer service skills for when taking orders, when I called you sounded annoyed" she replied, "thats because I was on my break!" I shot a look at her like are you kidding me?! You are in customer service! If you pick up a phone you don't act like that! She then told me I needed to leave and she was refusing service to me! I just could not believe how this lady "Darnee" was acting. Oh when I told her well now the food will be wasted, she said no it won't, "I will be eating it, Thank YOU! " I am so appalled by this I will NEVER order from here again! oh BTW no one else was there while I went to...

I've been ordering regularly (2-3x/month) from Talay Thai for about 8 years.

Pros: Food is delicious. Also, if you order spicy you'll actually get spicy.

Cons: I just can't recommend ordering Delivery from Talay any more. Over the last couple years they've gone from filling their to-go containers (& having extra-tall containers if you order the $3 "extra meat" option) to really skimping on the serving portions. The Pad Prik Khing (so good!) that I had delivered tonight (with the $3 "extra beef" option) showed up in a small container with literally 2 pieces of meat in it, and about 25% empty before it was even opened. This has happened regularly the last several times I've ordered Delivery from them. We used to get at least 2 meals out of each order, now it gets consumed in 1 sitting & leaves us hungry.

Maybe the Dine-In experience is better, I'm not sure. We'll have to try it soon, but it's across town & not convenient. In the meantime, we're sad to cut this restaurant from our go-to delivery restaurants. I'd give 5 stars if the portions weren't being cut so much while the prices keep going up.

Edit: Update 4 months later. Tried ordering again, hoping things had perhaps improved. It's gotten worse. Now the container is more than half empty. I tried calling & asking if this was intentional. They said it was, but that's "normal." It is not, or at least it didn't used to be. Maybe there's new management? Either way ... DO NOT ORDER DELIVERY HERE. Lowering my review. Photo of my $20 "with extra beef" order, right...

absolutely the worst customer service i have ever seen. my wife and i orderd 2 to go orders. when we got hime, the food was so spicy we could not eat it. we had ordered the food as nit spicy. i called back to ask why it was spicy so that the next time we ordered we would get it correct. the lady who answered the phone was very polite and asked if we wanted to return to exchange them. i told her no, we live to far away to return and it was not an issue. she told me she would put my name in a book for a complementary order. today, we decided to try again. i called and asked if my name was there planning to pay if not. the guy was vey unprofessional and told me my wife had cone in the day after our first order and picked up the 2 complementary plates. she did not. i explaned to him the situation and the olny thing he knew to say was sorry, dont know what to tell you..... like i said, i was prepared to pay regardless, however, after the way he talked to me and handled the conversion, i will never return. i would have given a 0 star if it...

Ordered some takeout from this place recently and I have to say it’s quite a disappointing experience! The pad Thai is mediocre, but the BBQ beef is awful. It’s supposed to be a hot main dish, but it’s cold and looks like a beef salad. What’s worse, I had to wait for over 15min to queue up to pick up my food. They are incredibly short staffed and it’s moving super slowly. Would not recommend it to anyone.

First time having this place. Had my partner bring me home bbq chicken since he was having lunch with a friend. His food was not great - and my bbq chicken came in whole chunks. Kind of odd. It was dry as hell and there was a thick black hair cooked onto my chicken. My partner is bald and I have thin brown hair so def doesn’t belong to us. Money wasted as the food is going in the garbage.
