We ate there three days in a row, trying different meals each day and all the food was great and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The Earthquake Cake was by far the best cake I've had in a while. The prices were very reasonable as well.

No buffet right now bc of COVID. Great menu still and wonderful staff. Worth the short drive off the interstate. Excellent chicken sandwich y'all. Cool downtown too. Must see Americana

Great place to stop by. Takes you back to the 1800s. The food was good. The service was excellent. The entire town is full of such great history. It's definitely worth a stop.

This place is worth a trip to Washington in and of itself.

I planned a trip in as a sort of side mission on my way to the crater of diamonds and the crystal mine with my family and I expected it to be just that: a side mission to pass time until we could check into our air bnb. But it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip.

Robin, our waitress was a gem, friendly, polite and so warm.

When I looked at the menu, which is just a simple print on office paper, I noticed that the prices for the entrees were pretty reasonable, which usually makes me suspicious of food quality. In Houston, where I live, at a plethora of restaurants, a chicken tender entree for 8.99 is literally frozen strips and fries from Sam's club. Nothing special and child sized.

I was surprised by the tavern even though I already knew it had 5 star reviews.

We ordered:

Jalapeno peppers A Reuben with fries A chicken sandwich with fries A bowl of broccoli cheese soup with a ham and cheese sandwich Two plates of chicken tenders and fries And the house special, meatloaf with mashed potatoes and gravy and black eyed peas.

First, the poppers were home made, and the best I have never had. The soup was home made, the Reuben was very well put together and my husband ate it like he had never had a meal before in his life. The chicken was actual like white meat chicken breast, hand battered and fried, and were huge and perfectly cooked. The meatloaf was phenomenal and rivaled my granny's, which is truly saying something special. Peas had great flavor and the home made bread served (especially the corn bread) was very good as well.

Go in, eat, buy some apple cinnamon jam, and tip well. You...

My wife and I visited Williams Tavern during Spring Break. Business was slow that day, but it still took fifty minutes for our meals to arrive. The waiter couldn’t have cared less and remained flippant. The hot sandwiches we ordered were cold by the time they finally came.

We went back to Washington for the weekend and reluctantly agreed to give Williams Tavern another shot. The server we got this time was a bit more friendly than the last server we got, but he seemed bored to be there. We waited 1 hour, 15 minutes for two sandwiches that never came. A couple who came in twenty minutes after we were seated got their meals once they became visibly angry and started making complaints. Having exhausted our patience, we excused ourselves from the table and the waiter, upon seeing we were leaving, stopped to tell us they were “working on our order now”. We will...

My wife and I ate here. Our food was mostly served cold with few exceptions. I asked for steak sauce when I first got my meal and was told by the waitress that she would check. As we continued to eat she came around several more times to nearby tables but not to ours. The waitress finally came back when we were all but finished with our meals. I never asked again. Clearly, she didn't want to be there and never smiled. We ordered dessert and what I received was clearly a smaller portion than anyone else received at the surrounding tables. Unless you come here strictly for the location and it's uniqueness, don't come expecting great food and absolutely don't come for...
