Great service. It sounds ridiculous, but they were more attentive then the staff at Cafe Cortina. We called to put in a large family order and the staff politely answered my wife's questions about portion sizes. When my wife picked up the food she tacked on a Dragon Roll and it was made very quickly. They wrapped the containers in cling wrap to prevent things from spilling in the bag. The egg rolls are large, have a flaky outside, and a savory taste instead of a greasy, oily taste. The General Tao's is made with something closer to a rub than a glaze. It isn't sticky sweet, instead more of a balance between flavors. The Almond Chicken was great. It comes with a brown gravy that has a good consistency. It doesn't congeal into a jelly like I have had at other restaurants. The beef with mixed vegetables was also great with tender beef and crisp vegetables. The sushi was great. The rice was sticky, but not too sweet. The eel sauce and eel were sweet and savory. The avacado and cucumbers were ripe and some of the specialty rolls are incredibly creative and I have not seen them anywhere else. Easily the best Sushi in Waterford, I would say on par with Makimoto in Auburn Hills (except that Tai Pan also makes great Chinese food too). We will be going back to try the Thai food. Honestly this level of quality I would expect from a high end restaurant. If the portion sizes we're tiny and the food was way too expensive this could easily be food from a Michelin Star restaurant in Chicago or Toronto. There is an attention to detail that gives you the feeling that the chefs take a lot of pride in their food. It is worth a trip if you are not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreššššš 5/5 ā Absolutely Outstanding! Tai Pan deserves 5 stars and then some. I ordered through DoorDash and was blown away from the moment the food arrived. Everything was piping hot, like it just came out of the kitchenāno sogginess, no cold spots, just fresh and ready to enjoy. First off, the portions are incredibly generous. One entrĆ©e easily feeds two people (though itās so good, you might not want to share!). You definitely get your moneyās worth, which is rare these days. Now the stars of the show: š„ Sesame Chicken ā Hands down the best Iāve ever had. Crispy without being greasy, coated in a perfectly balanced sauce thatās sweet, savory, and just a little tangy. Every bite was addictive. š¶ļø General Tsoās Chicken ā Absolute perfection. The flavor profile is rich and bold with just the right amount of heat. The chicken was tender inside with a satisfying crunch on the outside. You can tell they take pride in their cooking. Even the sides were great ā the fried rice was flavorful, not greasy, and the egg rolls were still crispy on arrival. Overall, this was a 10/10 experience. Fast delivery, hot and fresh food, and truly exceptional flavor across the board. Tai Pan has officially become my go-to for Chinese takeout. If youāre thinking about orderingādo it. You...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husbands dinner was the only good meal that we got. Salmon roll: it was 6 little pieces per roll and I got 2 rolls. With how little the rolls were, I thought it was one roll only. The salmon was not fresh.. the texture was off for salmon. The tempura roll: the eel sauce rhat was on it looked like caramel sauce. The tempura itsself was not well flavored. The rice for the sushi also tasted off. Teriyaki chicken: the chicken was questionable looking. Shrimp fried rice: the shrimp was sweet and overcooked. Ot ended up being sweet and rubbery, it was off putting. Rice tasted sweet Crab ragoon: not the best i have ever had, probably bottom 3 crab rangoons I have ever had. Seasame chicken was flavorful. Chicken was good. Would not recommend this place to anyone. There are a lot of other better places. If you like food not really flavored, this would be a good place for you. Thats not shade, that is just fact. The staff was very friendly and easy to order...
