Flip's — Restaurant in Waterloo

First visit and my wife and I were impressed. Both of us had the pork tenderloin sandwich which was outstanding! Took about 20 minutes to get our food but it was worth the wait.

Staff was friendly and prices were very reasonable.

There were three well-spaced tables for inside dining, but most of the traffic looked to be carry out.

Minor downsides were they were completely out of fish (an excuse for us to visit again) and cash only (I missed the door signs but convenience store no-fee ATM was just two blocks down Broadway).

Really looking forward to our next visit. May call first just to make sure the fish...

We went to Flip’s for lunch and ordered the catfish nuggets with cole slaw and a cheeseburger with fries. The catfish nuggets were fresh, crunchy and delicious. Cole slaw was slightly crunchy, creamy and yummy. The cheeseburger appeared to be hand made patty, generous portion and the bun fresh. The fries were hot: I thought they were somewhat floppy ( I prefer crisp in a french fry) but the orderer thought they were very good. Flip was our cook and waiter. Flips is a 'One Man Gang' restaurant. Charles runs the place & his customer service is ABSOLUTELY on point. He takes your order & prepares it right then. I ordered the Rib Tips-Cat fish tenders fries & baked beans. Everything was 'Fantabulous'!! Nothing seasoned too salty & came out hot & tasty. If you're in the area, give the man an opportunity to win your business. His pricing is more than reasonable---you don't feel as if you were 'bent over' for good food & quality service.
