Gasthaus — Restaurant in Watertown

Back to try after new owners. Love the exterior and interior. Very clean and relaxed feel. Brighter inside. Mix of high tops and regular tables.

Got in at 4:30 ordered drinks quickly. It was taco day so I got the burrito and the family got a burger and a wrap. It took an hour to receive the meals only after a party of 12 that arrived 25 minutes after us got their appetizers and two other tables received their food.

We did get refills and a few checkins from two waitresses. TVs were great for game night coverage. Music wasn’t too loud.

We didn’t get our bill. I had my card on the table so they got the idea that we were ready. Instead she took it and ran it. Well it was wrong too many drafts were on it. I attempted to get their attention but that didn’t work. I walked up to the staff and said sorry this amount is wrong.

They tried to give me another bill, and that was for a larger party and even more beer. Finally they just gave me $5 and said sorry.

I know - never give your card until you see the bill. I ended up a much smaller tip because it just meant I got over charged.

Food was meh. We ended up in another town the next day. The bar we stopped at had much better tasting food. Better options and a more attentive staff to the pricing. Guess we will wait in...

Stopped here with my family (party of 7) one Thursday afternoon for Pizza. We were bummed out that the pizza oven was broken. Was told this was the spot for good pizza. We decided to stay and order other menu items. I hate to give this place a poor review but i can't ignore the poor service and "lack-of-flavor" in regards to their food.

Food: I ordered "The Greek" burger and was a little disappointed. The onions didn't have any flavor, my burger patty fell apart, and my fries were cold. For a 2 dollar add on fried should be warm. My kids boneless chicken wings were cooked too long. They were very hard for them to eat.

Service: There were a few parts about the same size as us that came and went before we even got our food. It took way to long to get our bill as well. I was a little disappointed with this.

Bar Environment: The overall aesthetic was pretty relaxed. it has this "up north' kind of vibe that really desirable. I really did enjoy the setting of the bar and dinning area.

For now, 2 out of 5 stars. I want to try their pizza to see for myself. I would love to return to improve my opinion. Regardless of my somewhat "negative" review, thank you to the Gasthaus staff for serving us. I hope you continue to improve and master your craft....

Gasthaus used to be one of best places to eat in Watertown. But since the new owners took over it's clearly no longer some place to go. They ran off the 2 best cooks in town! I went in today and place an order for Mexican! Only 1 other person in the bar. After 40 minutes and the man that came in after me got served before me. I asked the bartender if the other bartender forgot to put in my order. She kind of laughed and said no. The cook screwed up your order and made it a chicken Burrito and so I gave it to that guy. He will remake yours. Never asked me if I wanted the chicken one. Never apologized. Acted like it was my fault the cook screwed up! I waited another 10 minutes while others were served their food. Still didnt get my food and left! Never an apology or a care in the world by the cook and server! Do not eat here!

They turned ratings off on Facebook! Only Restaurants that keep getting bad ratings do that. The ratings on Google are from the old owners who took pride in good service, good food and keeping their employees happy! Clearly that's not...
