Heard a lot of rumblings about this place so right before they closed? I gave it a try. First impression was pretty offputting the woman behind the counter was rude, no other way to explain it. My husband had gone to the other side to get a breakfast sandwich and when this woman finally asked me what I wanted, I picked a few things & joined my husband on the other side. While I sat on the bench I found it odd that we could see that side working diligently but Rosemary's was hiding behind an old junky entertainment center. As a retired baker myself I clearly wondered why someone would need to hide especially with such a grandiose ego. I've seen the posts on social media claiming top quality this and that as if their competition let this man in their kitchens and I noticed a few things. For one Bakers Plus cake mix? Hotel & Restaurant flour. A young staff member saying how those donuts they "figured out how to make" were actually purchased through a distributor, also those petite desserts most of which came from Restaurant Depot and I know because I still gather items there for when I do events for family and have seen them in the freezers. The most off putting of all was that the whipped cream being used on a cake was pulled from a dishwashing tub not from the refridgerator but it looked like it was pulled off the floor! Sorry but if that's top quality then perhaps the health dept should pay you a visit and re-educate you. The store bought cannoli shells and store bought cream? Is ANYTHING what you claim it to be? As for my purchases number one, the "famous date bar" that actually has not a single date in it? Maple syrup is my guess just off tasting, and that old Wesson shortening from back in the day? Didn't you claim that unlike other bakeries you doesn't use shortening which I found rather funny as any real baker can taste the difference. The cupcakes (purchased before I saw the mix) were burnt on top! BURNT! Another funny thing I've noticed was there were a few not so savory reviews about you which kept me from racing to see what all the fuss was about that have oddly enough disappeared. I was told by a neighbor the owners son in law works for Google and he more than likely removes them. Well Chef Rick I'll make sure a full review is done on a platform you won't be able to erase or alter. Pictures, all of it. Who knows maybe that can make the front page of the...
Read moreThe original Rosemary’s Bakery was before my time, but for over 20 years I’ve been hearing about how iconic this bakery was from my entire family. When we heard they were reopening, we decided to go check it out right away! We went mid-afternoon, and needless to say they were already picked over because everyone in the community is as excited as we are about their reopening. We picked from what they still had in stock and OMG, I’m in heaven! The chocolate eclair was literally one of the best I’ve ever had, and we were big fans of the strawberry turnovers and cannoli as well. Plenty of seating in the bakery to sit there and enjoy a treat, and I think their weekend hours are awesome. We can’t wait to order my mom’s birthday cake from there this year because their signature cake is beloved in my family. I’m sure we’ll...
Read moreThrilled to see Rosemary’s bakery offers a gluten free cake. When I mentioned I had food allergies, the staff took it seriously and even brought out the pastry chef to walk me through the ingredients during the busy holiday season. Really appreciate this level of customer service. Was told they’ll be expanding their gluten free options in 2025. Highly recommended for those concerned about food allergies.
All in all the bakery was clean, staff were helpful, and the pastries were...
