We had an early dinner on a Thursday evening and really enjoyed it. There was us and one other table of two. The cream of duck soup was very tasty and the cheesy seafood had a little bit of spice to it and excellent flavor. We also tried the naked cheese curds and were very surprised at how they turn out, a very nice crunch with the gooey cheesy center. We both had steaks, hers was the large filet rare and it was done perfect for her. Mine was the large ribeye medium well, it was also done properly. Both steaks were seasoned lightly and had a side of aus ju that has a lot of flavor and complements the steaks very well. We skipped dessert because we were both full. I can imagine the Friday night fish fry being busy like all of them up here in Wisconsin. The chippers are pictured with this post they are a thin cross cut potato chip, very good with the french onion dip they serve with them. The dinners broke down to about $35 a plate with soda, an appetizer, and some extras with the meals. Overall, the cost is high for the area but in respect to the meal it was well worth it.

Amazing staff, our waitress was among the best, the food was a bit more expensive than other restaurants in the area but you get what you pay for! The steak and prime rib was the best I've ever tasted, the appetizers and drinks were amazing as well! Everything was so great we spoke to the chef at the end of the night to thank him for the amazing dinner, he was also extremely friendly and an absolute pleasure to talk to. We will definitely be returning and bringing more friends and family!

Absolutely loved it here, our waitress lori was amazing, gave her honest opinion, was timely without feeling rushed or forgotten. Had to wait for hostess who wasnt at her spot when we 1st got there. The chef was awesome as well. Made a dish to go after closing, we tried to tip him but he refused, he was super nice. Will definitely recommend. With drink, appetizers and main dish it came to about 50-75 per person. The atmosphere is warm and inviting but not fancy or romantic.

We've only recently discovered the Brittain House and have been pleasantly surprised and enjoyed most everything. When dining, service has been good and the food quality has also been very good. Prices, compared to the region, are very reasonable. A recent experience requires a bit of "hope" for improvement, however. With a very lightly busy bar (5:30 - 6:00 pm on a Wednesday) and dining room, the bartender could not keep up at all. We waited 15 minutes before being acknowledged and two ladies just after us probably waited 20 minutes. Having MANY years in the service industry, I would certainly not criticize if staff were doing the best job possible. However, the inefficiency was glaring. For instance. . .both people who worked, at some point, behind the bar followed the saw inefficient pattern.

Go to a customer and take a drink order. Walk all the way to the other end to make the drinks. Deliver the drinks. Take the money. Walk all the way to the other end to the register. Bring the change. Go to another customer.

There is zero multi-tasking or efficiency. Just like wait staff are taught to never come back to the kitchen empty handed (grab empty plates from any table, etc), the bar staff really needs to improve in this area. Multi-tasking behind the bar is a must. It is very possible to take more than one drink order at a time. It is easy to take a patron's payment AND take another drink order before heading back to the other end. Then, it's just as easy to bring the change to customer #1, and the drinks to customer #2 at the same time. And so on.

And the soda was completely flat too (no carbonation). Experienced bar and wait staff should be able to recognize flat soda just by seeing it in the glass.

We will be back; and, as I said, we have had pleasant experiences. This one was sub-par and we hope that the above is considered to be constructive and intended to be helpful...

I was in Waupun with family in mid June and four of us decided to try out the Brittain House. The waitresses were extremely friendly and made our drinks spot on. Unfortunately our visit went south from there, our appetizers took about 30 minutes to arrive and were just above room temperature. We figured fair enough a new business will have some growing pains? We assumed our main course wouldn't be far behind. We couldn't have been more wrong, it was an hour later when the food arrived! I had a burger that was no warmer than a kwik trip burger, my brother ordered a mushroom and swiss burger and ended up with a portabella sandwich, and my cousin got her steak sandwich which was cold to the touch. The most disturbing part of our visit was the manager tried to blame the waitresses for our food for sitting in the kitchen for too long! My question was didn't the cook wonder why it sat for so long, and isn't it the managers job to make sure the staff is communicating with each other? The only reason I gave it 2 stars is I see potential for growth. The last thing a manager should do is pass the blame in an instance like that! If it's all up to the cooks and waitresses what is the point of even having a manager? Side note: there was only roughly a dozen customers at the time. P.S. I don't know if anyone will be able to see this since the administrator of this page has been trying to hide my review so I changed it to 1 star. Good luck hiding my Yahoo and Yelp reviews I will now go out of my way to post! This is a direct copy of the review they are hiding on their...

Never felt the need to write a review before, but here we are. Food's great. My apologies to the cooks for the bad review, but I had a small problem turn into a big one somehow. Got one burger made incorrectly and called expecting to be offered a replacement. I was instead offered a 60 cent refund for cheese i didn't order in the first place. I would be told later that she claimed i was offered a replacement which definitely was not the case or i wouldn't be writing a poor review right now.

After hanging up, my girlfriend called back saying it was unacceptable. The manager said she'd replace it but complained that it's difficult due to the ongoing pandemic (as if we weren't already sympathetic to that.) My girlfriend was taken aback by this and said that wasn't professional and was promptly hung up on.

So after a THIRD call back she said to come back for a refund. I did just that and was dealt with pretty rudely as well.

I'd love to support a local restaurant during the pandemic, but not this one anymore. The pandemic hits both ways and if I'm spending 30 bucks on two burgers, I expect them to be correct. I understand mistakes get made, but the 60 cent refund offer and general rudeness were uncalled for. Feel sorry for the staff that had to deal with her and the repercussions of...
