Gathering Place — Restaurant in Wayne Township

The Gathering Place is one of my favorite comfort food places. It's very nostalgic ordering here with my kids like I used to do with my parents. Chrissy, the owner is amazing. She always makes sure every order is perfect. All of the items she offers are delicious, I have never had anything I didn't love. Just to name a few: the biscuits and gravy are literally heavenly, the French toast is amazing, and those fried potatoes are cooked to perfection every single time. Lunch and dinner are just as good as breakfast. The roast beef is my favorite. My kids love the burgers and the chicken sandwiches. I could go on and on about how good the food is. This hole in the wall restaurant is a great place to eat near Stonelick Lake. The diner is small (seats approximately 30) and the staff is also small (1 chef and 1 waitress when I was there) but still has outstanding service.

The waitress seated us, took our orders quickly and accurately, and brought the food out quickly. The chef made every order correctly. The prices are very cheap and portions are quite generous. The food was a little bland for my taste, but the waitress explained they do not add salt with the intention of those who want it will add it on their plate.

There are about 5 parking spaces right in front of the building.

What this place lacks in size and quality it makes up for...

Great little place. We were passing through Newtonsville around lunch time on our way back from Stonelick lake. We saw a small little restaurant as we entered town and though "let's try this place" and we are glad we did. Great food and a very friendly staff. I had the steak philly sandwich, fries and coke slaw. My wife had the hot ham sandwich. Everything was good but my wife's hot ham sandwich was great! I also really liked their Cole slaw. Next time we are in the area we will definately dine here again. I'm sure the locals all know they have a great little " Gathering Place" where they can get a delicious meal.
