I rarely send food back. I will look at the staff and tell them how delicious it is if asked. Today I sent my burnt medium burger back. I was secretly proud of myself for not paying for, what I find to be, gross food. As I sat there listening to the cook complain about me, saying she's never had a burger returned and I complain about everything. I decided to take it off my bill an just won't frequent that place. Edit: as the Mgr ad owner sat quietly by listening.

There's nothing like kicking back and witnessing a stunning sunset sky while seated outdoors with a nice cold beverage and a hot plateful of food. Try it sometime - it really makes life easier to digest. Of course, when the weather doesn't participate, the indoor part of the Sugar Lake Hotel tavern is retro and inviting. No matter how you stack it, this is a great place to chill or warm up - you make the call.

So the only reason this place gets any stars is because the food is good. Came here for the first time on a Wednesday night, wing night. Arrived at 8:30, ordered wings and a beer. All good! Met one of the new owners. She was great. She let us know what was going on for the weekend, invited us back to see the live band on Saturday, great people skills. Came over on Saturday around 7, looked like we just missed an earlier rush... tables were all covered with dining remains, the bar was all sticky and dirty, the one bartender/waitress wouldn't even acknowledge we were there. I think we met another one of the owners, (Robin?), but she was pretty useless. Asked for iced tea, she said she'd have to get someone to do that... Anyway, good food, crappy service, we'll only come back if there's no other choice. What a shame. Hope the new owners get this stuff...

I’m giving the place two stars not for the service or the food but the atmosphere, my wife and I were there on 9/5/2020, there was a large group of people down in the yard, they all came in their quads, music was exceptionally loud at times, I wanted to sit there with my wife and have a conversation, couldn’t do that, I was surprised the owner never came out to say anything, my wife and I stayed spent 94 bucks there gave the waitress a cash tip and tipped here again when the bill came I’ve been coming here for close to 20 years and never experienced this, I get it, it’s the holiday weekend and the place is in the middle of no where but these people should have had some type of respect for the...

We had a great evening at JIs Place. The food was delicious, especially the HUGE soft Pretzels. There was a band playing Bluegrass music, I guess it's every week. The view is amazing off of the Outdoor Deck, what an amazing sunset. The prices were very reasonable and I was a little surprised at the options available for someone with a Gluten Allergy; Wine, Cider and Seltzers. I'm definitely going back for a future visit and I'd suggest the same for anyone in the area or doesn't mind a...
