The Building is the only reason I gave this 2 stars... 1st our "Waitress" was Rude Right from the beginning. Became Annoyed that our table had a question about A particular item on the menu.. Her attitude got worse when my daughter and niece were unsure of what option to choose. When my father took a bite of his omelet he pulled something about 1" in length and COMPLETELY SOLID from his mouth we were unable to get a good look at it because our waitress was walking by and grabbed it out of my Dad's hand with her fingers stating "I don't know what that is" and continued to circle the restaurant filling other patrons coffee cups with this solid piece of who knows what (that was not only disgusting but was also in my Dad's mouth) in her fingers. I was shocked! She didn't acknowledge what happened No care no concern for her paying customers..this person should not work with the public for several reasons!!!! However it made sense after tasting the food (WHICH WAS RIDICULOUSLY OVERPRICED) THE ENTIRE RESTAURANT HAS NO STANDARDS, I am sad to say that it had a terrible taste and later that afternoon I still had a foul taste linger from whatever I ate. On a positive note my Dad's omelet was taken off the bill.. *Overpriced *Unpleasant Tasting Food...
Read moreThis place is beautiful outside and so is the big dining room with the REAL fireplace. On your walk into the restaurant they have homemade one of a kind (they doubles might look as if they’re the exact same but they’re all slightly different) chainsaw carvings, swings, & benches for sale (prices are really steep for them which is understandable). They also have a “gift shop” (if you would even call it that! Back when I first went there in 2002 or 2003 it was jam packed with really nice craft items, a few vintage items, historical items, homemade stuff, towels, shirts and more! You would have to move stuff around just to be able to see what all was there!!!) with books and mugs and a few other things. But honestly this place has truly gone downhill over the years! Not a lot of options menu wise anymore & the prices are a little high for what you get. The quality of the food has even gone downhill, it’s bland. Honestly the only thing that hasn’t changed and is still extremely delicious is their homemade chunky applesauce! As for the staff they are very friendly but hide out a lot back in the kitchen area. I waited 10 minutes at my table before going up to the diner counter and sayin hello cuz they forgot to bring me my dressing...
Read moreWe stopped in to eat right around 1530. The place was pretty much empty, and we were promptly told to sit where we would like. We both ordered the bison burger and both were cooked exactly how we asked: mine med rare and the other medium. I did find the flavor lacking, but texture and moisture of the burger was on point. The fresh cut fries that were ordered were soggy. Could've definitely skipped those. The fried pickle spears were amazing. All our food came out quickly. Staff is super friendly. Decor is an eclectic mix of western, log cabin, frontier, and a bit of simple city living. if we are ever in the area again we wouldn't be opposed to eating here...
