Murphy's Tavern — Restaurant in Weare Township

If you’ve read my other posts you can see that I am not the franchise or cut crystal and table cloth kind of customer. I have been on the road for 40 years and have eaten at every kind of place you could think of.

I look for small out of the way, homey, family owned places. The kind of place that when you leave you know everything about everybody, even seen pictures of their kids kinda folks. My kind of folks.

This is a little out of the way place thats worth the hunt. Best burgers of several sizes, makes and models. Something to please everybody. And don’t forget Taco Tuesday all day. Best home made tacos you’ve had in a while.

Big Mike and him Mom and Dad run this place and another in Ludington. Anyone that is a veteran will be at home...

Great dive bar with a super friendly waitstaff. Especially Becky!

I was a little concerned because I am a veterariian trying to followi a low carb diet and the only thing I seen on the menu for me was a side salad. When I explained my dilemma to them they made me a fantastic extra large garden salad made with the freahest crisp green leaf letttuce. The tomatoes tasted like they had walked out the back door and picked them off the vine!

Where Pentwater locals hang I guess...new ownership...but looks like a makeover will be slow going. They are doing some live music..good bookings too...but a wall between you and the band...uh..not happening...the tree... probably has seen its last days unless they find a creative way to keep it. Red solo cups for mixed drinks..?..dunno if that's always the case or just for live music nite. Fried everything..this...
