I planned a bike route to come out and try this cafe for the first time. I was looking forward to it after seeing the great reviews. When I got there I really liked the setup of the place, it's on the edge of the woods and far enough from 114 to feel secluded. The tables outside are convenient and the cozy seating area inside has a perfect New England charm to it. The food was good but not great. The coffee is just ok and the options are limited but the price is fair. I got a slice of meatlovers quiche which had some good flavor, but was somewhat small for the price and was reheated via microwave when I got it and it was still cold in the middle. The chocolate donut I got was probably the best part of my meal and was a nice treat. Overall I'd give the place 4 stars on the food and atmosphere alone, but I was disappointed by the service. The staff seemed a bit distracted at times though it wasn't busy and seemed to not anticipate some basic things like providing some cutlery to eat the quiche with or providing a trash outside for customers, particularly for when they wrap up their meals after the cafe closes at 2pm and the door gets locked. The biggest thing that I did not like and would probably keep me from going out of the way to visit again or to recommend the place to other cyclist friends in the area is that they wouldn't provide free tap water refills even though I had already paid for lunch there. This is a basic service to provide for customers and I haven't come across a place that didn't do this in a long time. Why would I bike to and support a cafe that wouldn't even provide tap water to help keep me hydrated for my ride back home?

Dearest Jackie, I cannot begin to tell you how above and beyond your “sweet catering spot” exceeded my expectations!! I KNEW it would be great BUT I had no idea how incredibly great, delightful, abundant and delicious it would ALL be! People raved about the food! I was so happy to have the healthy (allergy sensitive) options! Our daughter, was thrilled as she often doesn't have options or they can be the same over and over! The food was simply more than perfect! The amount was great! We didn't have a tremendous amount over….. Enough over for good leftovers and to share some, but it was perfect! The GFDF frittata was a HIT! The quiche, bean salad, spinach salad, banana breads, GF Boule, cupcakes, treats allergy sensitive, carrot cake were all AMAZING! Not one thing was not just perfect! My husband also couldn’t believe how friendly and kind you all are! He said, “keep going back to them!!” And I sure will! Thank you again Jackie and ALL who helped with this delightful order!! The bridal shower was a great success and your catering made an already special event, a real delight ! Thank you!

I would first like to start by saying this looked like a nice place and some of the pastries looked delicious. The staff at the counter was very nice. I am giving a 2 star review because this is definitely not a place to get specialty cupcakes. I called and spoke to the baker and she arrogantly informed me that she has made many Christmas cupcakes and they were $3.25 a piece. I asked for 3 dozen and would pick them up in a week. She informed me that they make santa, snowmen, and Christmas tree designs. When I picked up the cupcakes, they were all different sizes with no consistency. I was not impressed with paying $3.25 per cupcake that looked exactly the same as the ones I could buy at the grocery store for a fraction of the price. The cupcake had no filling , had no texture and was borderline just bigger than a mini cupcake. I had 50 people over and at the end of the night, there was only 6 cupcakes gone out of the 36 (I had one)... That pretty much says it all right there. Absolutely was not worth over $120!

The Sweet Spot is a real find. Everything is made from scratch, with ingredients you know the names of! The breakfast sandwiches come on a fresh made biscuit, and the sandwiches on home-made bread. The desserts are to die for. The lemon bars are super lemony, the eclairs are unbelievably rich and creamy, and even the donuts taste light and fresh. The bakery used to be known for its pies, and owner/baker Jackie has been improving on them. I’ve only had time to try to one, and I picked my favorite strawberry rhubarb. Both the crust and the filling were great. Jackie says the key lime pie is her best, so I have to try that next. The place itself is bright and cozy. It’s a nice spot to sit and enjoy some coffee and conversation. Chat with the new owners, Jackie and Jim. They are anxious to please. (They are not the grumpy owners mentioned in reviews from last year.) They take into account what their customers say and, as an example, have started baking some gluten free products because customers requested them. Long-time local residents, Jackie is an experienced baker who decided to open her own shop. She uses only fresh ingredients, and she knows what she’s doing with them! Jim is an old hand at breakfast treats and sandwiches. He’s introduced his grandmother’s pork pie (“Big Ma’s” pie). That’s a take-away item and I haven’t tried it yet, but other customers were raving about it. I highly recommend...

Eating lunch with a girlfriend has usually been good —soup and salads and sandwiches are okay. I was very disappointed in their pies on Christmas however. It appears they are mostly concerned with appearance of their pies versus the quality of the pie. What I mean is, they “looked” good. Nicely put together finished product that had an enticing pastry. Strawberry ruhbarb pie had a raw bottom crust that was saturated soggy sitting in liquid and strawberries could be counted on one hand. 90% ruhbarb, raw crust and not much taste upon trying one bite. We tossed the pie (which with ice cream was meant to be Christmas desert 12/25/2018. Pork pie— was frozen! Tried cutting to serve after heating in a fry pan and it was frozen straight through. The prettily designed crust was sooooo thick from edge of pan to where the pie filling started, a good inch, leaving quite a gap of missing pie filling. We were all disappointed as a French group, Canadian pork pie is our Christmas breakfast tradition over past years. Not happy with pie quality overall. Would not order again.

PS I just hung up with the owner 2 days after Christmas to try and explain the issues and she was so intent on yelling over me, and not listening I no longer have any want to patronize this business. She wouldn’t even...
