Review and rating updated as of summer 2020
Quality has gone up significantly from last year. The food is delicious and the soft serve ice cream is THE best around. We order from them frequently, and though seemingly almost constantly busy (which is great!), they are clearly working hard to get orders out as quickly as possible. Call and order ahead if you're in a hurry, especially on the weekend. Staff members are always polite and friendly.
It'd be nice if parking spots were more clearly marked in some way, since some people aren't the most considerate about parking efficiently.
Old review: Absolutely loved this place last summer! Great food, quick and efficient service. We were excited to revisit them this season, but our experience was less than stellar. Our order wasn't especially large or complicated, but it took a fairly long time to come out...and was underwhelming when it finally did. My partner's burger had nothing on it but the cheese and meat, even though he asked for all the toppings, and it was pretty apparent that both our patties had been frozen not long before. All our food was luke-warm at best, and the burgers had a distinctly plastic taste. Overall, a disappointing experience. We will be returning, and I will update my review afterwards. Hopefully the quality will improve to the level it was...
Read moreSuch a fun, cute little stop for the best ice cream around! So many choices, including hard serve, soft serve, maple creamies, low sugar, dairy free, floats, shakes, sundaes, pup-cups, and more. Plus, they have a variety of meal options like burgers, wraps, hot dogs, salads, fried seafood and chicken baskets, etc. You order at one window and then they call you up at another window when your food is ready. They conveniently accept credit cards which isn't always the case for these types of seasonal establishments. My favorite thing about Villagers (formerly the Country Creamie) is the location and setting. Beautiful Vermont scenery makes the drive even more worth it! There's some lovely outdoor seating - picnic tables and even a covered porch area. Some people opt to sit in their car to eat, so it's got a bit of a drive-in feel. There's additional parking and seating out behind the restaurant, too. And they do have bathrooms! It's a must-stop if you're driving through the "4...
Read moreNo signs indicate that food orders stop at 8:00. I arrived at 7:55 and waited in line for a girl behind the counter to tell me at 8:03 that they no longer serve food. This is after I was biking 3 hours on Friday night. This place needs a sign out detailing that food stops at 8:00. Big waste of my time. I am editing this review because the hours online have been updated. when this review was written the posted hours were either until 8:30 or 9:00 if memory serves and during this time they would sell ice cream. The sign outside the building said "open until 9". Now that the posted hours are until 8:00 this review just makes me sound like a Karen that doesn't understand how restaurant hours work. Seems like they have resolved...
