I really struggle to swallow their food and a lot of their food is fried bar food but they do have salads. I ordered the burger and asked for some pink. I ended up with a hockey puck and fries that seem like they sat. If you want a burger in Lewiston wait for Friday's and go to the Moose Lodge, now that's a burger and for a good price. I have also had the fish tacos, it seemed the oil wasn't hot enough and it was unappetizingly soggy. I wish they could re vamp the menu or keep this menu for just the bar and the room next to the bar have a slightly different menu with more grilled items or pasta. It is pricey for what you get. The best thing is the atmosphere and customer service. Just sad that the Moose Lodge has better options and tastier food. The Bar has a cheers feel and you will leave smiling.
In response to the comment left by the establishment, first of all to current date I have 29 reviews of business 14 of which are positive meaning 4 or 5 stars. Secondly I am not a Moose Member anyone and everyone can purchase food there, not just a member. I personally don't know how things are run there but if volunteers are out cooking your professional chefs then that says alot. Yes I brought up to my waitress that the hamburger was overcooked, she apologized, said that they have been busy and rushed to the next customer. There was one other group in the dining room and a handful of people at the bar. Maybe you were busy with take out, I don't know. This wasn't just about the hamburger it was the fish tacos too, which I brushed off because it was towards the end of the evening and I was told kitchen was closed when I flagged them down to show how oily the fish in the tacos were. I know you are a popular establishment because twice I had wanted to try a special but you had run out. Like I had mentioned, why not have more pasta or grill items other then burgers? Use your specials as a spring board, you have had some delightful specials that I really wish I had a chance to try. I did include some positive things in my review such as about the bar. So just take what is said as constructive criticism and rather then reading to respond, read to understand and...
Read moreWe seek out interesting places to stay so chose this when in the Trinity area for a one night stopover. The current building was constructed in the late 1800's and on the phone was told it was "rustic." The front has a wood boardwalk just like an old town western street. Well, where to begin. At first glance at the bar and the patio area we were a little concerned about the room. There was stuff thrown on the sofa in the bar where we sat and the patio has junk on it that needs to be carted away. But like I said we like interesting and we were definitely in interesting territory. Kerry, the owner showed us to our room and we pleasantly surprised. Upon opening the door to the hotel portion there were stairs leading up the rooms with nice old fashioned patterned carpet that looked new, old fashioned wood interior with a lovely stairway chandelier. The room was small but had a bedside table on one side and a luggage rack and hanging area on the other. There is a window air-conditioner that worked perfectly fine. For our room there was a bathroom off the hall. I do know there was one room occupied that has its own bath but not sure about he rest of the rooms. The bathroom was large and very adequate. We had towels in our room. There was no one else there so to us it was not a problem. It is old and charmingly creaky. There is a bar and restaurant that is quite popular with the locals but unfortunately it is closed on Monday and Tuesday. There is also music on the weekend. I imagine it's quite fun when its all open. ||||On the negative side, other than it does need to tidy up some on the public side, other than the electrical plug running the A/C, none of them worked. In addition, the toilet in the bathroom, while I'm sure is clean seriously needs to be replaced. It is stained and rusted and looks disgusting. We are glad we stayed here and experienced a little...
Read moreWe used the Lewiston Hotel Bar & Grill for our wedding & wedding rehearsal. All I have to say are positive things! The ceremony site is beautiful. The dance hall is very cool as well. Its very rustic/vintage looking with a beautiful wood bar. The venue was an amazing price and included a wood arch, tables, tablecloths, chairs, & all 6 hotel rooms for the night of the wedding. Katie was great to work with & flexible. We communicated mostly through email but as the date got closer Katie gave me her own personal cell phone number in case I had any questions & needed a quick response back. We were also about to arrange a time the next day to clean up from the wedding.
As always, the food at the Lewiston Hotel Bar & Grill was amazing. Any extra food was boxed up by the hotel & stored in their fridge for us until the next day. We also utilized the Lewiston Hotel Bar & Grill for our bar services. Katie was able to put together a bar menu for us with signature drinks. Katie & her team also helped bring food/drinks out to us & our wedding party. Like I said, nothing but positive...
