I really wanted to like this place. We were driving along and saw a billboard sign for it. So, I added it as a stop along our route to home. It looked cool from the outside. Our server was quite friendly, but seemed stretched a bit thin. The overall service of the restaurant itself seemed a bit slow/lacking. I'm not sure if that was from having restaurant patrons spread out between three distanced sections - outdoor seating, bar area and indoor dining area, or just management issues/workflow logistics. There seemed to be plenty of staff. It wasn't just our table/server, I heard the table behind us- a table of five or so, and a small child, say the same thing and they had a different server. Now to the food. The iced tea came out cloudy. Perhaps that may seem as if splitting hairs, but it also shows improper preparation and negatively impacts the flavor. I'm paying for the overall experience and eating out is not cheap. The flaming saganaki with fried pita was good. Again, our server shined as she brought it out and presented it - well done there. The small Greek salad was good as well. No complaints there, fresh romaine lettuce, feta, house dressing, four small kalamata olives, a few red onions slices, cucumber and tomato. I ordered the gyro platter. There were half inch to 3/4-in pieces of raw white onion in a pile on one quarter of the plate. On another corner of the plate was a thick tzatziki, sans cucumber or dill that I could tell. There was diced tomato under the triangular pita pieces. The diced tomato seemed like it had been prepped sometime ago or were somewhat overripe - a bit mushy/mealy. The pita came in small triangular sections that were kind of awkward to incorporate into the meal. The meat came in a large heaping pile in the center of the plate and was dry, somewhat crumbly and lukewarm. I would rather have less meat, and it be higher quality/presentation. I had a few bites and was finished. I had the rice pilaf as a side and it was just okay. I wanted to give this place a full chance, as Greek/Mediterranean - of my favorite cuisines. My daughter and I looked at desserts and opted for the baklava. It's a Greek American restaurant, right? I also ordered a coffee, black. As you can see from the picture, the baklava was not made well. I've made baklava which has given me all the more appreciation for good baklava. I also know, the longer it sets- the better it is. Each layer of phyllo dough should have butter and honey applied. The baklava was dry throughout, and honey seem to have been sporadically applied. Some parts of the baklava were incredibly dry. The bottom layer of the phyllo dough was soggy, which is weird, altogether. For the next half hour, the roof of my mouth and tongue were dry and rough from the thick layer of dry cinnamon in the middle of the baklava. When I ordered coffee, I was told a fresh pot would be made. The coffee that came out to me, tasted burnt as if it had been sitting on a burner for quite some time. I ended up leaving loads of food on the table, instead of packing it in to go boxes, because I did not want to take it home, just to throw it away. ~$73 dollars for two to eat. Definitely not worth the time or the money.

I was working in Weirton, West Virginia on a beautiful 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and I asked our wonderful customer where is a good local and non-chain place to eat. He immediately recommended Theo Yianni's Greek Restaurant which was about 4.0 miles away. Theo Yianni's Greek Restaurant is a simple, casual, and cozy eatery with great food and beverages. They have a simple menu that is not too busy and has something for everyone. You can have a delicious and fresh meal coupled with warm, friendly, and attentive customer service. The establishment is a really popular place with the locals and it is definitely a "Refreshing Change from the Chains! It can get very busy in there and so arrive early and you won't be disappointed! Upon entering, I was immediately greeted by the host. She was very friendly, pleasant, professional, and had a genuine smile. It was a Monday around 03:00 PM and I was immediately seated, provided with menus and my beverage order taken. Janet was my server and she smiled, welcomed me, and immediately introduced herself. I was fine with water, no ice, and four lemons. For my entree, I ordered the Bourbon Glazed Salmon with rice, and asparagus. Janet immediately brought out my Small Greek Salad with homemade Greek Salad Dressing. Just as I was cleaning up my salad... Janet was bringing out my entree with perfect timing. Everything was delicious and my meal was prepared, portioned, cooked to perfection, and served hot! Janet was very attentive, friendly, efficient, and happy to help! In short, the great food and awesome customer service made for an awesome dinning experience! I will definitely be returning here when we are in the Weirton, West Virginia area to try some of their other entrees, appetizers, specials, and dessert.

We stopped here after we saw this place advertised on the Ohio Valley Food Fanatics group. I will start by saying the service was great. Our waitress was very attentive and offered to go drinks before we left, which I LOVE. My husband ordered the burger(he's not a huge Greek food fan) lol and it was a hand shaped patty made fresh, not some frozen patty. Fries came out super hot and crispy. I got the chicken lemonato and the fried chicken was so tender I could cut it with a fork. The asparagus was cooked just right. The "crispy lemon potatoes" were not crispy but tasted delicious. However, I removed one star because the hummus let me down. I get hummus everywhere I go and eat it everyday at home and the hummus here was one of my least favorites. The texture was off and could have use a bit more flavor. However, the fried pita bread with it was the star of the show. I would definitely return and recommend to others.

My family & I have been frequent patrons of Theo Yianni's (at least twice per month) since he had his first location on Pennsylvania Ave. We obviously enjoy the food a great deal. However, our last 4 consecutive visits visiting and acquiring take-out have been extremely disappointing prompting this review. Missing items, wrong items, despite knowing to repeat back the order when placing it because the consistent errors are a regular feature of their take-out. Our latest visit was on Mothers Day. I realized from the start that they would be very busy. In fact, the person taking the order explained that our order would take one hour to prepare. When I arrived at the one hour mark, I waited an additional 40 minutes to actually receive my order. As a result, our order was quite cold, soggy and virtually inedible. Also, there was some kind of sauce on the inside of the lid for a side of steamed broccoli (gross..I snapped a photo to show Theo if I ever come back). It was obvious that the 5 or 6 cars lined up in front of me had arrived early judging from the sheer amount of time each car spent at the window. I make that statement because my order, which was quite large, was ready at the window as soon as I pulled up. I paid, received my order and was quickly on my way. I truly believe that Yiannis should instruct those arriving early before their order is ready to pull over and have someone bring their meal to them. Every person arriving early potentially ruins every other customer's meals, and Yiannis should know this. Also, shortly after the pandemic kicked in, on one of my visits, a single vehicle was in front of me. The driver thought he was at Wendy's and placed his order at the window. That was not the problem. Yiannis allowed him to sit there until his fresh order was cooked, thus again ruining my family's meal. Come on Theo. You know better, and you give the impression that you care about your customers. That is how you have grown so quickly. Don't allow an issue that is easily remedied to place a mark on the stellar job you have done building...
